Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 That is the type of play a pitcher tweaks an ankle etc. let him go 6-7 then wrap him in bubble wrap and trade him!!
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Its hard to look past the drafting Bichette becoming a top ten prospect, plus I'd be surprised if Pearson isn't a top ten prospect to start next year. He is looking amazing in NH right now. 5IP, 0 H, 1BB, 6K
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Honestly, i dont expect much. We got fleeced by the Yanks last time. Stroman is younger, better and has a year of control left... The return should be vastly better or Atkins needs a pink slip.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 He looked out to me, but I think it will wind up inconclusive
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Did he even touch the plate? Kind of looks like he missed it
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Did he even touch the plate? Kind of looks like he missed it Thought same.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 He looked out to me, but I think it will wind up inconclusive Really hard to tell. He almost reached past the bag rather than over it. I think he was probably safe. Worth looking at though.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 You're definitely in the minority You mean the majority of BJ fans want him traded?? I dont think so. Not from reading forums and FB accounts
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 You mean the majority of BJ fans want him traded?? I dont think so. Not from reading forums and FB accounts Majority of the fans want him to stay Its all about the prospects in return for me. Just dont want to be disappointed, but feeling like we will be.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 You mean the majority of BJ fans want him traded?? I dont think so. Not from reading forums and FB accounts I mean I wouldn't take Facebook dummies seriously, they literally don't know how a rebuild works. Those are the same fans that disappear unless the Jays are doing well. If you can get a fair/favorable deal for Stro, you take it and run.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 If you can get a fair/favorable deal for Stro, you take it and run Yeah, and what if the trade pieces flop?? Sign Stro to a 5-year deal and you have a good pitcher until he turns 33
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Not really looking forward to watching Randal Grichuk for the next 5 years
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Didnt realize Bieber had a no-no going.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Not really looking forward to watching Randal Grichuk for the next 5 years He should be batting 7 or 8.. I was just looking at the lineup and thinking that...
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Grichuk's WRC down to 81. No reason to play hard any more I guess. Moneys in the bag.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I want Grichuk to have a monster 2020 just so he can be traded right after. The final 3 years of his deal is essentially 3/29. That is movable if he's any good. This season is clearly a write off for him. And count me in as preferring to keep Stro long term, but one reason is because I'm not confident about the trade return. If we get difference making prospects who can help in 2020-beyond, then that changes things. If we get Clint Frazier, then fml.
Jaysareus Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 $52 million dollar grichuk is hitting a whopping .228
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Yeah, and what if the trade pieces flop?? Sign Stro to a 5-year deal and you have a good pitcher until he turns 33 I mean, that's a risk in every trade you make. I'm not against keeping him if the value isn't there. I just think we are in a prime spot right now to complete a blockbuster like this.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Didnt realize Bieber had a no-no going Good, you just jinxed him
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I mean, that's a risk in every trade you make. I'm not against keeping him if the value isn't there. I just think we are in a prime spot right now to complete a blockbuster like this Okay, so trade him for who exactly?? Got any interesting names?? And do you want proven ML'ers or Minor L. prospects?? Or a mix of both??
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 You're definitely in the minority. The minority on this board perhaps....
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Good, you just jinxed him Only I can jinx pitchers. It's written into the fabric of the universe.
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Feel like this no hit is about to happen right here.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Taking Stroman out now would be ideal, but Montoyo will probably let him go 7, or get an out or two before a curtain call.
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Brandon Drury has a .640 OPS, he is drifting into JMAC territory, and still getting playing time.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 No one warming up in the pen. Damn, stop letting Montoyo think for himself.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Brandon Drury has a .640 OPS, he is drifting into JMAC territory, and still getting playing time Thats what makes me nervous about Shapiro trading Stro
