Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Tellez's statcast is okay but it's got to look good or better for him to be a viable player. Slow lefties can get shifted to death and he contributes nothing defensively or on the bases. Plate discipline profile isn't what it needs to be either. I think he's probably shown enough that I'd give him a lot of ABs over the rest of the season ("we have no one else" situation) but he's a complete shot in the dark at this point.

You made up for this post at the end... lets see what he has all year.

Let him have 800 ab before writing him off.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Y'know, I'm REALLY happy that Gurriel is just demolishing baseballs, but I'm extra happy 'cause eventually tercet is going to have to admit that he was wrong about something. Never. He'll play the 'i never said players can't improve. At the time Gurriel was BABIPrriel'
Ray Verified Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Jansen looking better. Hope this is a turning point for him offensively.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted June 26, 2019 Author Posted June 26, 2019 I think in order for Biggio to become a superstar needs to put on aboot 10 to 15 lbs in the gym. BR has him listed at 6'2" 200lbs but I think thats generous
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 I'm almost completely disinterested in Rowdy Tellez in a climate where you can just go get a CJ Cron or Ji-Man Choi for a couple million bucks whenever you feel you need a 1-2 win 115 wRC+ bat to take a bunch of reps at DH. I don't mind giving him reps this year, because why not, but if he hovers around a 90 wRC+ he should be optioned to AAA next year. There isn't enough upside there to warrant spending multiple seasons trying to develop a mediocre DH.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted June 26, 2019 Author Posted June 26, 2019 This just in, Aaron Judge can hit

Smoak, Encarnacion, Delgado, Olerud, McGriff?

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Vladdy scuffling again. Just can’t see to get it going consistently.
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 More perfect, on the black pitches against Guerrero Jr. Just have to laugh at this point.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted June 26, 2019 Author Posted June 26, 2019 Smart try by Gurriel, if he wouldve gotten the runner at 3rd before the Yank crossed homeplate the score would still be 6-6. IMO he wouldnt have gotten the runner at the plate

Ex Player Verified Member Posted June 26, 2019 Author Posted June 26, 2019 The handle on the bat is gonna turn Grichuk into a superstar

Ray Verified Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Or finally getting good luck. His expected statistics don't really post that rosy of a picture for him either. .293 xWOBA, .227 xBA. He's getting unlucky, but even if he wasn't, he still wouldn't be league average.

Ex Player Verified Member Posted June 26, 2019 Author Posted June 26, 2019 Drury might be hurt. This is really gonna hurt the team
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 He's a rookie, man? The power is elite, I’m just not so sure about the hit tool. Defensively a bit iffy. There’s still time to fix things, but everyday 1B to replace Smoak next year I’m not quite convinced yet.

BTS Community Moderator Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Looks like Chapman won't pitch today.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 Looks like Chapman won't pitch today. No he just pitched 50 in 2 days.
