I dunno, our good pitchers have pitched well (Stroman, Giles, Thornton, Shoemaker before he died). I think the problem is that the pitching staff sucks.

Stroman's xFIP is 4.16, which is the highest of his career. He's been getting good results, but it's not like it's well supported. Shoemaker was also 4.36 xFIP, but 1.57 ERA. Thornton is 4.61. Giles has been outstanding.

I don't know, maybe some of the good luck those guys have had can be attributable to Jansen's game calling too. It was just something I wondered about.

I just realized that Danny Jansen has an OPS under .500 Jesus Christ thats next level bad. Especially for an everyday player. That fat Mexican in A-Ball can't come fast enough.

homer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With that kind of raw power, you got to be patient with this guy to develop as a hitter.

I actually didn't think Stro and Shoemaker were that high. Thornton pitching like a ~2-win starter is a pretty good outcome though. I just see a bottom-half pitching staff that's also been riddled by injuries and pitching more or less as expected.

Tellez is hitting dramatically better vs lefties than righties. It's probably just SSS fueled by BABIP, but the fact he IS hitting against them (and with power) is really encouraging.

It may very well be. Just one of those thoughts that pop into the head from time to time. At least THAT is something that can be taught if necessary.

Why...because the inning should be over but the defense loaded the bases for Trout

Did u not see the stats they put up about 10 minutes ago? He’s s*** and how can anybody argue that!

Nobody is arguing the fact he's been bad this year, but he got zero help tonight.

When you're a starter and you walk a couple guys and strike out zero people, you're gonna have a real bad time.

If Smoak was at first base tonight, that hard hit ball right at Tellez would in all likelihood be short hopped for a step on first / catch the runner in a run down double play. That would have changed the whole complexion of his start tonight. Just saying..
