And now that the X-Men (and Deadpool!) can be in the MCU it could get even cooler (as long as they don't cancel the X-Factor movie).

Also, too, Shazam is by far my favourite DC movie so far, see it. Yes, I enjoyed it even more than Wonder Woman, which was also excellent.

Shazam was a lot of fun. I still prefer WW (shocking I'm sure), but they're also very different so I kind of can't even compare them.

I’m very excited about the possibly of an extended x-men universe. There’s so many good characters and solid material there that they can pump out 2-3 movies a year indefinitely.

The Bryan Singer ones were mostly all good but for X3 (Singer didn't even direct) and the last one. Totally agree with you. Now that Disney has it they'll head to the MCU right? Will definitely breath new life into the franchise.

Yeah. Pretty sure Feige said it wouldn't be any time soon, though, which does make sense since they have the next few years set already.

Hurl, get in here and get this thread back on track or close it. Based on your experience and superior intellect you know when a thread is going off track!

Vladdy is a comic book movie fan.

Blue Jays raised their ticket prices for tomorrow night. Seats in the infield last night when I was looking were $70. Now they're $88.50. Unbelievable.

I'm not too surprised since they did implement dynamic pricing a couple years ago.

I absolutely love Zachary Levi, so I'm admittedly biased as f*** on this one.

Yeah but they can automatically change the price of a game the day before?

The $88 price doesn't bother me if the game was already priced at that before the season started. But changing the price a day prior to the game because Vladdy is being called up?

Posted
So for example, let's say the Yankees games, which are all priced at high points, but now with everyone injured like Judge, Stanton, Frazier, Hicks, Severino etc, should the Jays lower their prices?

The Blue Jays are trying to teach you a lesson! You should have already bought tickets to the Oakland A's vs the sub 500 Jays in April.. Those who didn't are now being punished for their lack of fan loyalty.

With dynamic pricing, if demand is low, the prices should drop. In true dynamic pricing, a computer algorithm sets the price.

It's not like the dynamic pricing with airlines though with sports teams when you buy from their official site, though could be wrong. Dynamic pricing, the prices are set before the season starts based on the day/time and team playing etc. So they should remain the same price throughout the season. Raptors use dynamic pricing as well (e.g. games against Golden State etc. are more expensive than against s***** teams).

So if they raised the tickets due to Vladdy's debut, isn't it fair to say that they should lower the ticket prices vs. the Yankees because Judge, Stanton, Frazier, Severino etc. are all injured?

I agree with you. On the Jays official ticket sales page/windows there should be a fixed price for the game set in advance. Price fluctuation should only occur on Stub hub/scalpers etc.

100% agree. The $88 price doesn't bother me if that was the Jays official fixed ticket price set prior to the season. Price fluctuation should only occur on StubHub,Vivid Seats, scalpers etc., not from a teams official ticket sales. That's really taking advantage of the consumer.

No. It's a business, and the owners set the business model. Capitalism at work. There's no social interest in regulating the ticket price like there is for health care for example.

Agreed its a business. But teams set the prices prior to the season and official ticket prices shouldn't fluctuate during a season because they call-up a certain player etc. If that's the case, when the Blue Jays are far out of contention in June and July, will the box office drop prices then?

Steph Curry didn't play in Toronto this year and I was pissed. Raptors should have changed the price for that game, but didn't. The price was set prior to the season and whether Curry was playing or not, that ticket price stayed the same.

No one is forced to buy a ticket. I can see why they wouldn't drop ticket prices below the published market price (but may well raise them). Dropping the price below the market price would have potential ticket buyers holding out, hoping for a price drop.

It's a slippery slope. What if a company like Amazon was to start using all the data they collect on you to offer dynamic pricing, charging some people more for the same item at the same time than others because they think they'll pay more? That would just be the first potential step too. For the record, I don't think what the Jays did is wrong, just ... a public relations nightmare waiting to happen.

Well Uber does it.. But we have all known that from day 1 and that is Uber..

However, what if a weekend evening movie is normally $10 and advertised that morning as such, you are taking your chica to go see a movie you budgeted $20 for the tickets. You get there, wait in line, get to the ticket booth and the pimple face teenager says that will be $25 dollars per ticket or $50 dollars for both of you. VdubMVP was just here with his whole family and bought out 3/4 of the the theater for the 5th time.

Wouldn't you think that is messed up??

Yeah, definitely - if it would make more people buy tickets.

That's wrong though, they sold out the building regardless of curry's injury. If anything, the raps should have raised prices for that game

Businesses already charge different prices for different customers at the same time. Sales distributors typically give lower prices to long term, established customers than they do newer ones. There is nothing illegal here (unless they started to discriminate on the basis of sex, race, disability, etc) the only downside is as you stated, pissing off potential customers. Businesses will weigh the increased profit margins against that risk.

Raps sell out every game lol. Most of those tickets if not all were bought before it was announced Curry wasn't playing. I'm sure several changed hands though on the resell market like StubHub, Ticketmaster, and Kijijji. Though the tickets officially sold through the Raptors whether bought by season ticket holders or through single game sales, that game was sold out a long time ago and priced at the highest tier level because it was Curry and the Warriors. I agree, teams can't make games/tickets cheaper. Many tickets on StubHub and Kijijji were going cheaper once it was announced Curry wasn't playing though. All I was arguing that a team shouldn't fluctuate their prices during the season, especially once they announced the dynamic pricing levels before the season.

You don't seem to understand the concept of dynamic ticket pricing at all. That's literally what it is, adjusting ticket prices based on demand. It's not hard.

Just to realize how the baseball expert think that Vlad Guerrero Jr will impact the baseball world the MLB network will carry his MLB debut game as Friday Night Baseball. This channel simply doesn't cover any Blue Jays games and hardly ever talk about any teams other than US baseball teams. They've been talking about this kid for days he has quite the pressure on his shoulders hopefully he can handle all the attention he has drawn to himself.
