vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I'm still thrown every time I see the new coaching staff.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I love that graphic that shows sb% for the player given the lead. Not sure if it's tailored to the player and catcher or just league averages, but it's pretty cool.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 The Beeg looks like a different pitcher, man. lol. A lot of it is the fact we're playing Detroit, but I do think this new approach of using the high fastball really works nicely with his curve/change combo. Scraped the cutter.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Ugh such a dumb way to give them an extra base.
metafour Verified Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I pointed this out yesterday. Buck and Tabby don't follow baseball. They show up, talk about what they see, repeat old school adages, confuse casual fans and go home (and probably drink). This is a huge problem around the league. There is a massive disconnect between how virtually every front office approaches the game of baseball in 2019 and the "story" that these veteran broadcasters paint to fans. What you end up with is a bunch of casual fans learning some ridiculous 1980's version of the game that no longer applies because 9/10 MLB teams employ these 60 year old former players who just show up to the ballpark every day and shoot the s***. I don't understand why there isn't a movement to transition a new wave of younger broadcasters into the league.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 f*** U hard, Buck... he scared the s*** out of me.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Not a dumb question, I asked the same the other day. Lots of recent changes. Ewwww did they actually put that through. I thought they were just thinking about it. What an awful rule.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I don't even really understand how this is happening, but Joe Biagini is absolutely MOWING people down
Chappy Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 The Beeg looks like a different pitcher, man. lol. Yup. Took a shot on him in the Tank because of that.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Ewwww did they actually put that through. I thought they were just thinking about it. What an awful rule. Next year, so stupid, taking strategy out of the game. *smh*
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Biagini honestly looks better than he ever has. Getting tons of swing and miss as well.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I don't even really understand how this is happening, but Joe Biagini is absolutely MOWING people down As Brownie mentioned, scrapping the cutter was a very good move by the staff.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 This is such a Ron Gardenhire move, tight game and instead of bringing in your best reliever for consecutive innings you go with Buck Farmer and Daniel Stumpf.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 down to 2...who's the last player to get their first hit of the season....Gurriel or Grichuk.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Pillar went full Jeter, diving out of the way of a pitch that was right down the middle.

tercet Verified Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Tercet lurking..... Soon enough someone will hang a slider or curveball and Gurribabip will hit it, elsewise he will continue to swing at s*** pitches and do nothing.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 It ended up with solid contact but I could not believe why he took those two fastballs right down the pipe.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Urena's is making me eat my words...jesus
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Ureña is really trying to make a case for himself.
