He didn't execute, 'cause he's kinda s*****... That was my point. We can't just say "if only he'd done this", when we really mean "if only he'd been better at pitching..."

This is true, but Hudson didn't make it to the bigs because of his off speed arsenal. Stick to your strengths for the most part and execute, locate. In Hudson's case, it's with his heater.

We seriously need to get this woman on this board or the Radio Scouts. Her obsession is real...

I feel like the tigers threw under 100 pitches today, everyone on O looked bad. Giles Biagini A+ though, Stroman B+.

Yeah, Giles especially.

Almost 1000 followers based on the fact that she's blonde and... like 7/10 maybe? *sigh*

Why? She's a crazy troglodyte.

Smoak leading off down by two with the shift on.

f*** off and push one down third and get the tying run to the plate with no out.

It's not dumb with the third baseman playing short. C'mon man seriously, push one down third and get the tying run to the plate. McKinney comes in to pinch run and play first base if we tie the game.

You're going to see much more of this from teams this year.

Look man, bunting 95 MPH pitches in the majors is difficult. Shifts are everywhere in baseball these days and nobody - I mean nobody bunts against them with ANY regularity. Do you think all these players are stupid? Or do you think there's possibly a reason why they don't try push bunts against the shift regularly?

who let Colonel Sanders throw out the ceremonial first pitch today? Are we promoting KFC?

I'm pretty sure that was The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase...

7/10 is generous.

Might’ve had a couple drinks too. But really that’s all it takes to get a modest following

Nice to see a dip in sinker usage from Stroman. Although it could be variance. Only 36 sinkers. Of course he got 0 swinging strikes on them and his avg. exit velocity was 98 mph.

33 sliders, 11 swinging strikes, no balls put in play. Should probably throw that even more.

Where do you get those stats?

He only threw the 4 seamer 3 times? am I reading that right? Can't they just show him the stats on the sinker and then stop using it almost entirely?

Yeah, I'll tell you why.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Furthermore, this isn't like a sac bunt which is more difficult given that you have to deaden the ball and get it on the ground immediately. Just push the ball towards third, whether it's hit hard or not, in the air or not, just keep it fair. If it were a one run game with Smoak leading off the inning, different story. Whether Smoak led off the inning with a HR or a bunt base hit, they both carry the same value. I would say the odds are better getting on base by trying to push a ball down third against the shift than swinging away.
