I always had Dobermans growing up and honestly they look a lot better when their ears are cropped. However, when I was adult and got a new doberman and had the surgery done I felt awful and I couldn't bring myself to ever get it done for another dog again.

Just for information, only Alberta and Ontario allow vets to dock tails or ears. I bought a springer pup recently and expected him to have a tail. He doesn't, apparently breeders can still dock. So make sure you inquire. I am in bc and it is definitely the law here.

As a dog owner I acknowledge I'm clearly biased here but I just have this nasty feeling that he nipped his dogs ears for those "good vibes in the 6" or some other dumbass reason. It's the same as circumcision. I didn't circumcise my son, and I don't agree with what Stroman did, but he's not running a dog fighting ring. I think he just made a stupid choice.

I can't believe I'm actually defending him, but it's not like he's Michael Vick here. As other people have pointed out, this is not an uncommon practice. I would never do it if I owned a dog, but on a scale of 10 of douchey things to do to animals, this is like a 3 or 4.

 

For all the people up in arms over this, if you have boys and you got them circumcised, burn yourselves with acid immediately for your pathetic hypocrisy.
