Laika Community Moderator Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Yes but you cant throw a cat which is in a box across the room and have it not get hurt.. Unless the cat has an actual injury that mommy did not mention then this is demonstrably false OR we can conclude that Samuel Dyson did not actually throw the cat across the room. also an mlb pitcher throwing a 13 pound box (considering the average weight of a cat) at his wife is definitely assault. Come on dude this might be your worst post ever It's not clear at all from mommy's post that the thing was thrown at her. For all we know, Samuel Dyson got frustrated and tried to lob the cat-in-a-box onto the sofa, and it bounced off and broke on the floor. I will submit that most normal human beings after having been physically assaulted do not take to social media and make cute anthropomorphic posts pretending to be their kitty. It seems like a dumb as s*** social media post after a dumb as s*** argument to me. Married couples get into heated arguments all the time, sometimes they get divorced - it's not always because someone is an abuser. Granted I could be wrong. Perhaps Sam Dyson went full wind up and smashed the cat-in-a-box off his wife's head, injuring both of them. I don't see the need to jump to this conclusion like everyone else seems to, based on the evidence at hand. If Sam Dyson did hurl the cat then he's a piece of s***. Maybe he did abuse his wife, but I'm not going to assume he's a criminal and this isn't evidence of that.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 I find it absolutely infuriating to see people doing s*** like throwing animals, they can't defend themselves. My understanding when I read this a week or two ago was for people that suffer domestic violence they tend to reach out if they ever do via a 3rd party. So the cat story is more of Dyson's girlfriend using the cat to say that Dyson is likely abusing her as well and it's a cry for help. If you have anger issues do yourself a favour and seek help, it's not healthy to irrationally lash out.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Profar traded to the Padres. I didn't realize how poorly he hit in 2019 until I just read about the trade. .218/.301/.410
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Preller in full blown panic mode. This was probably a good acquisition regardless, their only 2B after trading away Urias was the ancient Ian Kinsler so this is a good buy low on their part to address that hole which they created.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Preller in full blown panic mode. Can't have Machado making all that money and finish last in the division again
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 The Padres are such a mess. They had adequate starting pitching in 2019 and maybe the best reliever in baseball. They had a couple of stars on the position side. For them to have only won 70 games is a colossal failure in roster management and player development. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy the f*** would they expose Josh Naylor as a useless NL player when they could have traded him to the AL for anything before he debuted? Why oh why.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 I think there will be better 2Bs available. Ty France might even be better. I agree with the first point but on the second, France didn't show very much in his MLB appearance despite his gaudy AAA numbers - all of his peripherals got significantly worse - while Profar is only a year older and ostensibly has more versatility around the infield and projects better. I don't think the Padres will sweat Profar's projected $5.8M arb salary even if their ambitions are high in the FA market.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Jeeze, they gave them Austin Allen? Profar was about to get cut. Allen is like a 45 FV. Now this is stupid lol. They must believe Allen isn't actually a catcher, because if he ends up sticking behind the plate this is a brutal deal for a guy they should have acquired practically for free.

Ray Verified Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Mike Moustakas to the Reds on a 4 year deal.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Mike Moustakas to the Reds on a 4 year deal. Good for Moose for finally getting that long-term contract.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Well that sucks, would have provided some solid protection in the middle of the lineup for the Jays.
Ray Verified Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 wow, 4/64 for Moustakas Definitely didn't see Moustakas at that much. MLBTR had him pegged at 2/20, Fangraphs had him at 3/36. The free agent market has picked back up a bit this year, it seems.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Mike Moustakas to the Reds on a 4 year deal. I guess this means he's a 2B going forward? Interesting for a guy who was once a plus defender at third but he got his money so no one is going to care about this.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Somehow fangraphs acquired Roster Resource already has Moustakas penciled in to the Reds' lineup lol. That is very impressive. The Reds' lineup is rock solid. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/reds
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Nice for Moose, I'm assuming the A's will likely flip Allen to a team that needs a C? Or so I hope... Ughhh
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 The Reds rotation also looks pretty good with Bauer, Gray, Castillo, and DeSclafani. Apparently still have money to spend as well.

They need to fill that hole at short however.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Nice for Moose, I'm assuming the A's will likely flip Allen to a team that needs a C? Not necessarily. They have Phegley as their only backup C and he's pretty bad, so Allen could make the team out of ST, if not he has two options remaining.
