I liked his movies better

WAR is dead wrong because the creators of that statistic have severed the connection between performance statistics and wins, thus undermining their analysis.

I completely forgot Clay Buchholz was on this team. I guess because he was throwing 83 MPH cutters.

lol... Wagner butchered two names in that tweet.

You can take it up with bill James as that’s his quote , not mine

yeah I agree with Bill James that WAR is not as comprehensively valuable of a measure as most would like to think. It is certainly very useful but should not be taken as the absolute verdict on a player's contributions.

It's the best statistical analysis on any one player at this time, far better than anything Bill James has come up with. James is dead wrong in this hypothesis, what has he come up with to refute this stat? Nothing is absolute obviously, but it's the best we have today. That claim was nonsense, imo.

Have people started to increase their expectations from Bichette from one month ago

I certainly have

Increase in what way?? Defense, hitting?? What??

Hitting for sure

I expected him to be an average hitter considering how he was doing at AAA

The guy is putting up triple crown numbers so far in just his first season in MLB, what more do you want him to do??

Brock Stewart and Justin Shafer have been optioned, Clay Buchholz has been activated off the IL, Ken Giles has been activated off the PL, and Nick Kingham has been DFA'd.

I was conveying that I expected him to be an average hitter and have since upgraded my expectations

Man this forum I swear

But how can you expect more of him when he's already exceeded everyones (well almost everyones) wildest expectations??

What more do you want him to do??

EDIT: okay, I think I know what you're trying to say. You expect him to continue to be a phenomenal hitter and dont want him to return to average. Is that right??

Nothing wrong with the forum..only this post...he was never projected to be just an Avg hitter. He was a top prospect for a reason.

I think Bo was more than mentally prepared to be in the show, it's obvious on how well he's handled himself so far. Sometimes younger players who feel they're overdue for a call up go stale mentally. Vlad and especially Biggio being called up didn't help either. I guess management wanted him to get more reps defensively, combined with the fact that Galvis was still here probably contributed to the delay. I knew he'd be a lightning bolt when he got here, but not at this level so far. The kid has an extremely high baseball IQ.

He was also out with an injury for a while, so that definitely contributed to the delay in call-up.

Don't worry, Pearson's going to need to build up his arm strength until... let's say... right around the super 2 deadline next year, but that date is purely coincidental, I assure you

They better not. I'm burning my BJ shirt and cap that same day

You're getting Vladdy 2.0 treatment, it'd be stupid NOT to do that with him.

To think they won't is naive. This is about asset management not being "fair".

I don't think teams tend to game pitcher service time. No f***ing point with how unpredictable arms can be.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
