I really don’t think we’d be looking at a Merryweather/Thornton return for Sogard.

 

Merrweather was traded for a former MVP, and Thornton was traded for 2 WAR shortstop with 4 years of control. We’d probably be looking at a Forrest Wall/Harold Ramirez/Santiago Espinal/Andrew Sopko AA lottery ticket type.

 

IFA money. It would be cool to steal Jasson from the Yanks.

They had that dude locked up years ago. I don’t think it’s possible to steal big money international guys late. I’m basing this on other guys but assuming he’s the same.

SRF is scheduled to pitch today in Buffalo. I guess he starts in the Yankees series starting tomorrow. Sanchez scheduled tomorrow night, maybe Sanchez gets pushed to Tuesday with SRF starting tomorrow.

Reid-Foley could probably be a pretty good reliever. Its to bad the starter thing didn't workout but I can see him striking out a ton of guys as a reliever.

Romano going down.

 

Not a surprise but on the game broadcast Shulman just confirmed SRF is just in case Stroman (or the next couple of starters) leave early, and Romano will be back ASAP but as he has options he’s the unlucky one to go down this time.

With Zeuch in AAA, I wonder if he will be called up soon. If he has 2 successful starts, do you think he is up?

 

I think Zeuch will be a better SP option over everybody else not named Stroman.

SrF has done nothing to deserve to be called up

I think it becomes a matter of who sucks the least, would you rather have Edwin Jackson give up 10 runs a game, or SRF give up 5 runs a game??

He hasn't been bad as of late, nothing like the way he started this season off.

Who would you rather have in your SR though, Jackson or SRF??

In the high minors, have any pitchers? I'd rather see SRF struggle than Edwin. SRF might need some MLB innings to get better.

With another terrific start from Stroman - the deadline approaching which teams do you think would be serious suitors for Marcus. And what should we be looking to acquire. The Jays need starting pitching but some outlets have said pitchers are less sure things so it is better to get positional player talent.

 

I was reading the discussion thread over at MLB traderumours where a poster felt the Jays should land 2 top 100 prospects + 2 lottery ticket pitchers in the low minors. This seems reasonable to me but others say Stroman isn't good enough to land that sort of package.

 

Here is what one poster proposed from the Yankees.

 

Estevan Florial (LH OF) + Jonathan Loaisiga (RHP)+ Trevor Stephan (RHP)+ Roansy Contreras (RHP)

 

Someone noted that Clint Frazier doesn't really fit the Blue Jays as he is a poor outfielder defensively and in a couple of years Tellez/Guerrero will share DH/1B duties. Further Frazier is a sell high candidate perhaps due to a good couple of months.

 

While these Yankee prospects are top 10 in the Yankee system - that doesn't make them "great prospects" in another organization.

 

The Jays really can't afford to miss in a Stroman trade - they need 2 sure fire can't miss regulars in return - is this Yankee package that?
