It's an interesting scenario. It's just over 70M total (2 years) that he would be leaving on the table to opt out. What are we thinking he could fetch on the open market this off season?

Assuming he’s healthy I’m thinking it will be in the 5 year 150M range if not better.

And the engraver just started scratching “Steve Pearce” on the MVP trophy!

(....if he hadn’t already....)

Pretty crazy story that with all the talent on the Red Sox that Steve Pearce is the guy that leads the way for them. Mookie Betts was virtually invisible this entire series and Red Sox are still going to beat the Dodgers in 5 lol.

Dodgers are going to have to increase payroll another $30 million next to get over this loss.

Everything the Red Sox touch turns to gold, it seems.

They have a pass the baton mentallity I have heard 100 times from them this WS.

A lot of the Jays were just saying pass the empanadas or if it aint a HR it aint s***.

Also, they have much better players.

Espinal actually looks like he might turn into a big leaguer, assuming he can cover all the infield positions competently. Maybe can carve out a Maicer Izturis (the good version) type of career? Jays weren't going to get better than that for Pearce. The league spits on first basemen nowadays.

As far as Pearce he really is a good player. Just didn't show it in Toronto, and was miscast as an outfielder. Glad to see him succeeding, but definitely don't like that it helps Boston.

Yes, 3 more outs until we begin the off season. First order of business tell Solarte here is $550k, adios.

Yea that’s the easiest buy out of all time.

Well they definitely seemed to like Espinal because they pulled the trigger on that well ahead of the Trade Deadline. I hope hes far and away the best offer they got to help the Red Sox a division rival win the World Series.

Hey guys, do you think if it's 2 outs when Manny comes up and he swings through strike 3 but the ball get's away a little from the catcher; does he hustle to try and get to 1st in time? :D

He'll probably spike the catcher and then jog

Doubt it. He'll probably claim he got a piece of it and argue with the ump.
