Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 a game? If Britton stays out there maybe, but it's still really far from being one.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Author Posted October 4, 2018 Zach Britton suxxxxxxxxxx Showalter was right!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 What a horrendous call by the ump, that's unacceptable. Yeah, just because replay is a thing doesn't mean that umps can take it easy. If they are just going to relax and let technology fix their mistakes, why not just skip the middle man?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Another dinger pls, Britton is trash, gotta take advantage before Chad Green comes in.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 I don't think it's emphasized enough the payroll discrepancy in this game. That's not to take anything away from the Yankees, they are a legitimately excellent team built by very smart people, but it sure helps when your top 5 salaried players alone make more than the opponent team's payroll. There's a $100M difference in payroll between these two teams. This year was a huge win for analytics. 5 of the top 10 teams in payroll didn't make the playoffs (with the Giants second in the MLB at a whopping $205M), while two teams in the bottom 10 (Brewers and the A's) did make it with the Rays at the very bottom having won 90 games in the AL East. How the f*** are the Giants #2? Off hand, I can't even think of who would be expensive on their team.

I would bet the bottom 10 beat the middle ten by 100 wins.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Not too happy with the Indians-Astros first pitch at 2pm on Friday. MLB is going to pimp the s*** out of New York vs. Boston, as they should. That will get all the prime time spots, and the only chance MLB has of getting mainstream buzz.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 How the f*** are the Giants #2? Off hand, I can't even think of who would be expensive on their team. They have a bunch of s***** and injured pitchers in Shark and Cueto who make bank, Posey is expensive, Melancon makes $20M a year lmao, Pence $18.5M, and then a bunch of guys who aren't elite but still make a lot of money.

Mark Melancon $20,000,000 9.73 Hunter Pence $18,500,000 9.00 Brandon Belt $17,200,000 8.36 Brandon Crawford $15,200,000 7.39 Evan Longoria $12,000,000 5.84 Madison Bumgarner $12,000,000 5.84 On the DL Buster Posey (60-day) $22,177,777 10.78 Johnny Cueto (60-day) $21,000,000 10.21 Jeff Samardzija (60-day) $19,800,000
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Holy f***, how to not spend money 101 with Brian Sabean
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 I would bet the bottom 10 beat the middle ten by 100 wins. Fun fact: the bottom 10 does not include the Baltimore Orioles.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Fun fact: the bottom 10 does not include the Baltimore Orioles. Maybe without Chris Davis For the next 4 years
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Maybe without Chris Davis For the next 4 years Don't forget Mark Trumbo who still has $11M left after having contributed -0.9 WAR for $22M. He actually has a bit of deferred money too!

Sanchez, Judge, Andujar, Voit, Hicks and Torres are paid that much so soon in their careers??????? I see about 7 million in total to these Yankees in 2018. You are welcome for this schooling.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Billy Beane is the Raptors, and the Yankees are LeBron James. Can't beat them regardless of what decade it is.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 With the Cubs and A's being out, Cleveland is the only team I have a wager on remaining.
