I think the whole org philosophy on pitching needs to change. So many guys with pitch-to-contact type arsenals.

 

First step is losing the 2 seam fastball and forgetting it exists in favour of the 4 seam.

The Kermaier AB vs Fernandez pissed me off. They had him 1-2 where he was way late on four seam fastballs belt high at 95mph the previous two pitches. Instead of climbing the ladder with another four seamer, they elect to throw a slider that was hit on a line up the middle. Obviously they wanted it down and away and made a mistake. His fastball was his best pitch tonight, good velocity and command, so there is obviously higher risk in making a mistake with his secondaries. It's mind boggling where the IQ on this team is at.
