Buck Martinez may just have outdid himself. He was going on a rant that analytics are diminishing pitcher wins because supposedly there are other factors or whatever, and then he claims "but the championship teams are always among the leaders in starter wins". This was a real statement, and he completely believes it, doesn't see any problem with it at all.

Don't know how much more rope Travis will get. It's not like his defense will buy him more time. Massive middle infield log jam on the horizon.

McKinney is a scrappy hitter. Combine his defense, speed and base running ability, he could be a valuable fourth OF at least.

 

Scrappy hitter? His ISO in the minors this season was .269 and that was a bomb. Are you just saying that because he's white?

Just his approach looks scrappy, short, quick and has a good two strike approach. Not saying his results are Pierre-esque, McKinney has some pop.

First we thought McKinney was black, now we miscast him as scrappy due to his whiteness despite essentially having a power hitter's profile.

 

Poor guy can't latch onto any stereotype.

ridiculously prodigious power, but he's on record saying he's trying to go the other way most of the time.

I am pretty sure he needs to talk with Joey Bats for 5 minutes about the merit of a dead pull approach when you have power like that
