Are there no other details on the dollar amounts for the other signings aside from Martinez?

I love how the Jays spent so much of their pool on one player but still somehow signed 27 in total. Shatkins front office is awesome.

$10,000 signing bonuses will do that

A couple of clubs have more than one DSL, amirite

Astros, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Mets, Phillies, Rangers, Rays, and Reds have two, while the Indians and Brewers share a second team.

What I thought, Jays might be next if they are dipping into the international pool this deep. Have no clue why Spanky needs to throw out the idiot label.

27 is not enough to have a second team. The current DSL Jays roster has 38 or so players on it. Complex league rosters are pretty big.

I mean could just make one account for a group of people you trust have to the password and can access at anytime.

I shared my password with several (probably 8) members of the old board and it took less than 12 hours to shut down my account. Like I said it might be tougher for them to track now but they are on it.

I know that, but if that is the approx. volume every year (and the Jays have been quite active for some time) the numbers will add up.

But it's not like they're all there for just one year then move on. Some are there for 2-3 years. You'd like to get them all some playing/development time.

And update on blue jays international free agent signings. Now up to 34.

May need a second dsl team. Which in my opinion they should have to begin with.

More playing time for these younger players. And can develop more good young

prospects. Some of them only get into 5 or 6 games. And maybe say 30 abs.

While some players only get 10 innings.

Krylian like I told you before. Anthony Alford has to earn his way back into the top 50.

after five full seasons he should have improved a lot more then he has. And with the depth

the blue jays have now he needs to improve a lot. You may or may not agree with me

but other people are starting to see this as well.

Where do you get 5 full seasons from. His first full season as a pro was 2015. He's had 4 pro seasons with a fair bit of time lost to injury in 2017, and he wasn't 100% the 1st half of 2018.

In my opinion with how young these players are and how many each team signs they all need a lot of playing time to

improve. Having players getting 20 abs or pitchers getting into five or six games is not going to improve they game.

Having other DSL team would improve that. Maybe even adding one or two more minor league teams would help a lot of players.

For example each of Toronto's minor league teams had at least 35 to 40 players on it.That's why to many players.

Some of those guys on the rosters are filler, not legit prospects where you worry about them not getting playing time.

I know, right? Some truths are just self evident.

He was drafted 2012. First two season were part time. From 2014 to 2018 full time.

Seven seasons in the minors.do the math.

If team is spending money on these players. They all should get more playing time.

Or its a waste of money. Could find good players to advance. Calling them filler players

is not cool for the kids. It's they dream to play baseball lets be nice to them. If teams sign them

they all should get a good shoot at it.

Well, I mean that's great and all. In this ideal world no one ever gets injured, plays every game, and a bench isn't necessary. In real life, not so much. You have to fill out a roster because, well, you need it over the course of a year.
