The Jays have a ton of deals expiring after this year (JD, Happ, Pearce, Grandy, Estrada, Clippard, Axford). I think at least you can trade those guys if out of it at the deadline. Try to re-sign Happ in the winter since he's still good and might actually like Toronto enough to sign back again. Others can be replaced internally.

Way too early to sell though. June at the earliest, but most likely July.

I'm not expecting to change the entire roster. That's stupid. But when a team sells at the deadline there is every opportunity to make 2-3 seperate deals to contending teams looking for depth in the pen, another starter, or to fill in for some potential injuries in the field. I'm not expecting to haul in a bunch of top 100 prospects. I'm hoping that some pieces are added that can be regular contributors in the future. Some good arms that maybe could fill in in the pen, maybe a potential starter, maybe some higher ceiling guys in A ball that a contending team can afford to part with. We all know how the deadline works, who wants what, and what usually gets moved in terms of specs.

My main hope is that this organisation realises that they aren't buyers, they are absolutely sellers, and they aggressively look to start a youth movement in 2019.

I’d like to see thIs seasons strategy of giving prospects playing time continue. Hopefully Jansen, and SRF are the next to be given a chance, and some of the players who have already been up get longer runs in the team.

Who said deals were going to happen anytime before then?

Not you, if that's what you're worried about, lol. You're the same everyday, aside from the great start(MIA). Still well over a 100 games to go.

They were never going to be a WC team

That is a ridiculous statement when the 2nd wildcard is wide open, and there’s nearly 120 games left.

Agreed. Jansen had been excellent fit over a year now, and SRF has bounced back really well. But seeing as he's repeating AA it's like to see him moved up to AAA to see how he adapts.

Also, don't forget about Borucki. He could be closer than either of them.

And yet it seems to be quite accurate.

Anyone can do that with any rubber team? lol... the fail percentage against pass is a thing, lol.

I was always here and commented many times than I was very surprised at how well they were playing. Note sure if you think I'm going that they lose but that's asinine. Is rather be wrong and have them make the post season, but I'm not going to pretend that I see something that I don't.

You legit think they can get more than 2 big trades, if needed?

So what don't you see, when healthy?

One big wildcard is Osuna. Depending on his legal situation he could be back next month, traded for a haul in the summer, or traded for nothing/released.

Have met some Women Wide Open as well and even if there was a whole season to go still wouldn’t touch them... And neither will this team be good enough... Reality is this Dream should just Die but Let’s be happy being competitive screwing Winning! Lol

He's a lost asset, from what I hear, here in Toronto. They're cutting ties, it's bad.

I think they can trade all those guys I mentioned in July. Some of the returns might be very minor, but prospect depth is important too.

Like this... look at Martin today, bud. Story of his start, the low BABIP, and his isolated power, everything is hit hard.

You all and BABIP...yes it tells us a story so do other stats. Like Martin is at a career high in soft% and career low med%, while still at his avg hard%. This is the reason his BABIP (Or what everyone says is luck) is astronomically low imo. It's not bad luck, it's bad hitting. He isnt hitting everything hard or his hard% would be higher than avg. Now his soft% is at a career high....why would that be. Bad timing, slower swing as he ages, etc. Add in his contact% is the 2nd lowest of his career as well. Put it all into perspective imo shows a hitter that has declined and is currently not hitting the ball well.

But you know what, his BABIP is crazy low and his ISO is a little about his career avg, so just call it bad luck and ignore everything else am I right Spanky?

Could still be traded if he stays out of prison, but yeah if he's guilty he's done in Toronto.

Well, this season seems to be going sour in a hurry. Oakland has a good offense so I knew they'd score some runs, but I'm really disappointed about the Jays approach at the plate. This offense isn't gonna cut it. I think it's time to call up Vlad. There's a possibility he could ignite things and get the bats going. There's no point in having him destroy minor league pitching. Kids ready for the next step.

It isn't up to posters, is why I usually say little on the subject. We have no barring on result.

It's doable. It's not like we'd be making blockbuster deals. JD and Happ will probably fetch something decent, but the others will likely be similar to the Joe Smith and Liriano deals (Teoscar, Pannone, Taylor). I doubt it will be that hard. Teams have to be interested in the players though, obviously.

I can agree with that, if we're in the same spot in first week of July! Not May???

Seriously, it's zero.

Yes. I know. Which is why I'm asking why you keep harping on it. Seriously...zero people said the Jays are going to move people before the deadline.
