That's a bit of a leap - we really have no clue what happened yet.

Big f***ing leap right there. Just as likely its some greedy chick looking for a payout.

Rogers can EAD if they force Shapiro to trade Osuna for nothing just to get rid of him.

Maybe 2018 is a wash for him with this, but if he's back to normal in 2019 without any controversy, then trade him for more value then. Holding on to him is not agreeing with what he allegedly did, it's holding on to an asset worth millions.

Corporate ownership sucks.

It really wasn’t meant to be s*****. I was just trying to bring light to the fact that the victim is more important than us losing our closer. But thanks for reminding me that you have to be ever so careful of every word you say this day and age.

That seemed like a rather strange way to put that across.

Hazel Mae tweeted that it's his girlfriend.

People do call 911 over yelling matches, especially if they are unreasonably upset in that moment. Neighbours do call the cops if they're pissed at loud neighbours. Cops do lay charges with little to no physical evidence. People who call the cops do routinely recant.

I'm not saying that you're incorrect and that nothing happened, I'm saying with the lack of facts we have that it is a possibility. And heck, I'm not even saying it's a (or the most) likely possibility. The whole point of my initial post was that that was at the least extreme end of what possibly happened.

If police were called by a neighbour and showed up, they wouldn't just arrest Osuna without evidence that an assault took place. Either she said he assaulted her or there was physical evidence of it.

I never disagreed with that.

Yunel Escobar was forced out for writing a bad Spanish word on his eye black.

Yunel Escobar was replaced by Jose Reyes as part of an attempt by Rogers to bring the idea we were competitive by bringing in aging stars like Josh Johnson and Dickey lol. They plastered his face all over the city, he wasn't exactly being replaced by Mike McCoy and he wasn't DFA'd

Sarcasm that I use to deal with difficult situations. I apologize for it not being up to your standards.

I think the reality is that he's too good of a baseball asset to throw away for nothing. I'm sure he'll get a lengthy suspension and mandatory counseling, but I don't think this front office will release him or trade him for pennies on the dollar unless this assault is especially heinous.

all of this speculation is stupid.

Wait for the facts or there is a good chance these quotes will make you look stupid later.

So will I still be able to get my Osuna tshirt on Thursday , don’t want to waste time lining up if not? Can they really let 15,000 tshirts go to waste?

In the scenario where she claimed he assaulted her but there was no physical evidence, she would be risking charges of her own if she later changed her story.

We all know why he was included in the Marlins trade and not kept as a super util type. The Marlins didn't even want him - they flipped him for pennies on the dollar to a team that can't afford to let public opinion dictate roster decisions

Speculation is fun tho

Yes she would. I have seen this happen (not regularly, but it is certainly not unheard of). Just because something is stupid and illegal doesn't mean people don't do it. After all, people assault their girlfriends and that is both stupid and illegal.

That's him out at least until the court date on 18 June then - that's 36 games already.

Yup. Well there's this whatever happens after is anyone's guess.

Under the policy, MLB can place a player on paid administrative leave for up to seven days while it investigates.

Yeah exactly, you said it. It's not worth keeping bad PR for a super utility player. But for a 21 year old closer who's setting records? Yeah they'll treat this differently

I think it depends on the severity. If there was actual violence, I think he's done in Toronto.

Am I missing something? From the same article:

Can someone please post Jen Mac Uranus Ramos thoughts on this? I'm blocked on twitter.

This is yet further evidence of the toxic masculinity the permeates baseball culture.

She did mention on her podcast that in her fantasy leagues (which she has only started playing within the past two yeard) she automatically drops/avoids all players involved with DV as a way to fight the patriarchal system.
