Sleeper: Samad Taylor

Bust: Ryan Borucki

New Legit Guy: Sean Reid-Foley

Sleeper: Deck McGuire (not a true prospect, but a solid bullpen reclamation project)

Bust: Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (what a shame)

New Legit Guy: Danny Jansen (becomes the undisputed top C prospect; up by September)

Did we sign Richard Hidalgo's son? Man - his Dad has a wild career. a 7.3 and a 6.0 WAR season, surrounded by about 6 s***** ones.

I would also argue that "new legit guy" should not include guys who are on top 100 prospect lists.

 

If you're a consensus top 100 prospect you are already legit.

I hesitate to call Pardinho and Warmoth a 'new legit guy' when they are an elite international prospect and first round pick, respectively. It's also playing it a little safe to call someone a bust when they aren't even a top 10 prospect.

Pearson as a new legit guy makes no sense. He's been legit since Day 1. I thought new legit guy was a dude who had a break out year and came out of nowhere. The best candidate for New Legit Guy IMO is Danny Jansen

 

Bust: Urena Suxxx already 2, maybe 3 SS prospects who project way better than him. At best he's a nice Ryan Goins type for us til he runs out of options

 

Sleeper: Jose Fernandez, based on his name alone

Well of course they do, but what relevance does that have? He's already a legit prospect is he not?

 

To me, new legit guy means someone who is off of the radar, but will have a great season and emerge as a future regular.

New legit guy for me is someone currently not on top 100 lists and will be by the end of the year.

I think it could also be a guy who's a fringe Top 100 prospect (like Pearson), who you think is going to be jump to he Top 20 by the end of the year.....ie, this guy's a legit, top prospect/future stud

 

Everyone has their own interpretation - except for Grant - his is just wrong.
