Hard to critique a play that worked out, but does anyone else think Pillars decision to steal home in that situation was a retarded one? Runners at 2nd and 3rd, 2 outs.. he also would have been out by 20 feet if the throw wasn't so bad.

Difficult to say. If a better hitter was at the plate, it would be more questionable. As it is, no one was paying attention to him, the pitcher had to step off before throwing since he hadn't come set yet, etc. That means a throw you aren't used to making, or expect to make, while you're also off-balance.

I feel like he figured Ngoepe had no chance against Betances while the latter was clearly rattled from being run on. It was a ballsy decision but considering the context it's not the worst decision to be made.
