jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Who's your pick to when the World Series now J4L? Giants.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 But in all seriousness i think it's going to be the Dodgers and Indians in the world series.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 Had some random Bold Predictions Article posted to my social media feeds. Saw there was very little bold in it... http://www.sportsbreak.com/mlb/15-bold-predictions-for-the-2018-mlb-season/ but it sparked my reminder that this thread wasn't up yet. I will post some time later. worst prediction in the thread
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 - Stroman has a season derailed by injury and is worth fewer than 2 fWAR. - The bullpen is once again a strength and top-10 in the league. - Morales gets 550+ PA and has a wRC+ over 110. - One of Solarte/Diaz has a 3+ win season and steals a starting spot going into 2019. - Tulo is once again worth fewer than 1 fWAR Boldness 2/5 - nothing here is all that bold Accuracy 4/5 - pretty much nailed Stroman and Morales. Diaz was ~2 WAR but you were close. Tulo did not play any games at all so was worth 0 WAR.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Jays finish with 75-80 wins after a subpar season from Donaldson, Smoak and Morales. The offense is once again bottom 5 in the majors Starting pitching is th strenght with bounce back season from Stroman and Sanchez but the team has too many issues scoring runs Martin, Tulo, Travis, and Grichuk all struggle with injuries. Shapiro is under pressure from fans to bring up Vlad in September but doesn't do it. Bichette drops off the map a bit but Pearson gains huge. Tellez bounes back huge At seasons end all of Alford Hernandez Jansen and Urena are regular contributors. Boldness 2.5 - nothing all that bold Accuracy - 3.5/5 - nailed Donaldson, Martin, Tulo, Travis, nailed the Vlad situation, Bichette dropped off a bit, but not a huge amount (almost everything was the same except for singles and he made strides defensively).
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 - Solarte & Diaz are fat and both suck - Aaron Judge hits fewer than 30 HR - Luis Severino needs TJS - Josh Donaldson misses 50+ games and gets less than $100M in free agency; does not re-sign with Jays - Vlad Jr "disappoints" in AA with a sub.-800 OPS and eats himself off 3B - Jays finish at exactly .500 and make no meaningful trades in either direction at the deadline Boldness - 2.5/5 Accuracy - nice one on Judge, Vlad had an amazing season, and I think you will agree that you are happy to be wrong on that,.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Devon Travis finally gets 600 PA and puts up a 6 WAR season, finishing behind only Altuve in 2B WAR Boldness 5/5 Accuracy 0/5
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
