Despite our record, and despite Spring Training not really being indicative of much, I really do think we've got a good shot at that wildcard. Well rounded lineup. Well rounded rotation. Just looks like a good team overall with really good depth in the minors.

Travis looks so good. He's still developing as a player. If he stays healthy he could take a leap forward this year with his production.

of course he does, but this is a blue jays discussion board.... where ideas get thrown about, just like the above post

if you don't like what i write, too f***ing bad

lol... your boner for trading players that would make a massive impact in contention or a PS run is tiresome, you've done the same in years we made the Post-Season in '15 and '16... have at it dummy! As for the latter, right back at ya! ;)

Fangraphs has us projected at 87 wins (and I think the 2nd wildcard).

Yes, they do. Yet somehow we suxxxxxxx to some on here.

Based on almost 3 WAR from Tulo.

Lots of ppl including top baseball guys at FG and BP think 87 is too high.

Also, I take a longer term view of things. Jays best chance at a WS will be a few years after Vlad and Bo get elevated to the show. Whatever we can do now to improve those chances, should be done.

Dropping Pearce and picking up Neil Walker would be fantastic imo. Travis could play 2nd vs lefties, a little OF, maybe DH twice a week. Probably keeps him healthy, and improves the team quite a lot.

He's projected at 2.2 WAR, not almost 3 WAR. Regardless, there's several players (Granderson in particular) that seem very low. A healthy Sanchez blows away 1.9 WAR too.

There's always a chance but realistically against the likes of the Yanks, Stros, Dodgers, Nats...... a WS this year is like 30:1.

Not to mention he isn't even considering the depth replacements, the Jays are in to win, without giving up anything significant from are farm, they're doing an admirable job.

Depending on how things go Vlad and Bo could be ready a lot sooner than a few years.

oh they will be ready sometime in 2018, but probably won't be 5-7 WAR players for a few years after that, if they even reach that level

Quotes please, thanks. Plus, BP should stick to Prospects, these are projections which give a relative idea to a team's overall talent, they all still have to play the game.

The goal every year should simply be to get to the playoffs. Everything from there is a crapshoot. If we're in striking distance of a postseason berth, we should absolutely go for it.

If a young team i would agree. Jays are full of old, oft injured players and one superstar who will most likely be gone at end of season.

Stroman is not likely to be gone at the end of the season.

Stroman a superstar? Depends on how you define it I guess....

Anyway, Shapiro himself said the rebuild would have started last year except for fanbase considerations

Good thing we've built up enough viable depth to cover for them in case those injuries occur.

The narrative that we're old has gotten old itself too. We're not the youngest team, but I think we have a healthy mix of older and younger players.

With respect to the last sentence, did I tell you to STFU?

what do you think of alford?

what do you think of alford?

I don't get the question, I'm sure he does, as many through the industry and us as Jay fans do? He's suggesting something the Jays will not do, well, until the deadline if we're out of it, and extension talks are non-existent.

After 2018 it's a re-tool, club is good and looking great for the future, you just don't get it, lol. Ignorance is bliss, it seems. JD might stay. No one knows.

You've provided a joke(April 2016)... keep searching, everything is receptive to criticism, we haven't had to do that yet.
