I'm a Blue Jays fan from Scotland. I would love to hear from other Blue Jays fans worldwide to find out how we all follow the team, how we got hooked on baseball, especially if we are not American or Canadian and were not brought up with the game and how many different corners of the world Blue Jays fans live in.

My Blue Jays credentials:

* I have watched one game at old Exhibition Stadium.

* I published (very badly) a Blue Jays Fanzine here in Scotland in the 1980's.

* I have a photo of Joey Bats on my study wall.

Hi there, welcome to the board. Not too many non-Canadians here. I'm American (there are probably a handful of others). We also have a Dominican, an Englishman and a Swede who post. Now we have a Scot!

My mom is from Toronto and I visit about once a year. My grandfather always took me to the games each summer, that's how I became a fan.

Welcome to the board!

I'm English and live in Leeds, Yorkshire.

My mother has cousins who live in the Toronto area after my grandfather's brother emigrated in the 50's. I went on a family holiday to Toronto in the mid 90's and went to a Jays game. Since then I've been to the US and Canada six more times, timed to coincide with either the baseball or basketball season. Although I've only seen the Jays once more live, at Fenway Park a couple of years ago!

To be honest, if it wasn't for the internet I'd be unable to follow as closely as I want to. I stream any game that isn't at 4am (or worse) UK time. I discovered this board around 4/5 years ago, starting reading it regularly around 3/4 years ago, then eventually signed up to take advantage of the ignore list (once the Jays got good nearly every thread dissolved into trolls and people insulting each other!), and then began to post 6 months or so later.

None of my real life friends have any interest in baseball, so this board is great, and I've grown to enjoy the off topic part just as much. There's some very knowledgeable people here, there are also some idiots, but overall it's a good place. One of the best things is that any baseball related story normally gets posted here within a few hours at most - which can be very convenient!

Many thanks. Is that Pendleton as in South Carolina?

Nope, it's Pendleton as in someone here referred to Cliff Pennington as Pendleton and I have a weird sense of humor.

So, already we have a Scot, a Canadian, an American, an English fan and a Doninican fan. Go Jays.

I’ve noticed at least two Hong Kong based, and a few more English posters who have posted infrequently. Of the regulars, there’s a few that are at least based in the US, but they may just be expats.

Blue Jay fan in Northern Ireland here. Was in New York summer 2010 and went to Yankee Stadium to watch my first baseball game - Yankees v Blue Jays. I said whoever won would be my team and the Jays won 8-6. Been hooked on baseball ever since and watch regularly on mlb.tv. Also since then I have managed to see the Jays in Oakland twice when on holiday in San Francisco. I'm a regular reader of the board but don't post.

I found that the best posters on the board tended to be long time lurkers before they started posting.

Is this a board meme or something, I don't understand, lol.

Lived in New England all 44 years of my life. My dad was a Yankee fan. All of my friends Red Sox butt kissers. I've never wanted to be like everyone else, so I picked the Jays, mostly because I liked the logo and they were at the bottom of the standings. That was 1982 and I haven't wavered since.

Can we bump this thread next December during voting for best Foreign poster so I don't have to vote for Terminator again.

You're almost right. Not from the Highlands, but from the ISLANDS. The Outer Hebrides, the Isle of Lewis in fact. As for Penny Pincher; I think not having to pay for ESPN Channel to watch maybe 4 Jays games in a year!!!!

Good for you Maine Jay.

FYI if you’re on the mobile site you can quote someone’s post in a reply by clicking the little quotation mark in the bottom right of a message.

Do you get wi-fi on the island, would be better to get MLB.TV and watch all the games? Say hi to the Loch-Ness monster for me...:P

Hi there,

another International Blue Jays Fan...from Germany! :D

As a baseball fan in Germany I'm a...hmmm...nerd! :)

Blue Jays Fan since the early 90's. A friend of mine has relatives in Toronto. His gift for me: a Jays cap. Since then I tried to collect all information about Baseball and the Jays. Not an easy task in Germany pre-internet.

The result: a die hard-Toronto fan with Gamepass and many, many sleepless nights...

Dutch immigrant here, but I haven't been back home in nearly 10 years and currently reside in southern Ontario. So technically I don't qualify for your list.
