There are many reasons to trade Pillar, foremost being he suxxx

Pillar is basically a 2.5 WAR player. At first glance he's the kind of guy people would over-rate, low obp, awesome defense by the eye test, but since everyone expects him to be over-rated, he's become under-rated.

He's 29.

Exactly. He could still fetch a reasonable return in a trade. Jays should do it soon.

Also, guys that get most of their value from speed are the first to lose value. The legs are the first to go.

We keep thinking that JD is still an MVP and All Star. He is no longer. I think a QO of whatever (I guess around $18m) is pretty good coin for him.

I think pay cuts for many could be in order. Too many guys injured or turn to crap with long term deals.

WAT??? lulz

As long as the return is good. He doesn't suck... he brings value.

I see your point, however it may be better to know what you have versus what you could get.

All Blue Jays would be better "if" there were a few guys that needed to be pitched around. Pitchers must love facing the Jays these days.

I get my opinion right?

Which part don't you like?

Although JD doesn't have much leverage at the moment, he's 32 not 35 or older and when healthy is an All-Star, I don't agree with any of it, and he certainly will not take a pay cut.

Yankees still hot for Happ. Sounds like they are among the front runners, if not the front runner.

Enough to trade Sheffield? I am not saying Happ would be enough, but what else do the Yankees need. Anyone off the roster really,

Tepera? Not sure what the Yankees need aside from some bullpen depth.

Sorry, but you're not getting the point.

There's also very little proof that lineup protection is real. You may have been drinking the Buck & Tabby tonic too long.

I don't believe that this would affect Pillar though. Think about the 2 playoff teams he was apart of and how much "protection" was on them and we really was not much better. his OPS was below .700 in 2016 which is terrible and .713 in 2015 which still is not great. So right now my be the peak that you are going to get from him now because nothing f***s you more then time and his play might accelerate that due to the punishment from his body. The way i see it right now you might as well deal him because he is on the brink of being a 4th outfielder type.

For every Rajai Davis who's speed doesn't abandon him, there's 10 more guys like Ben Revere (done at age 28) and Michael Bourn (done at age 30) who fall off the proverbial cliff around age 30.

Pillar will be an example of the Jays trading someone too late.

And Pillar isn'teven that fast a runner. He's slightly above league average at 27.9 fps this season. MLB average is 27.

Teoscar is actually the fastest on the team at 28.5

Would love to add Frazier and maybe one of the yankees lower tier arms for Happ if possible.

Im not gonna pretend to know how desperate certain teams will get at the deadline, but I think getting Frazier on his own is likely our best case scenario for Happ.

I'm expecting 2-3 lesser pieces for Happ.

Yankees are probably more likely to part with a Frazier given their outfield surplus, but maybe they think they can use him to get a controllable top tier arm like one of the Mets pitchers.

Or more likely Archer.

Gardner is a FA after this season. Frazier can take over in the OF next year for them. I don't think they will part with him for a rental. For a big upgrade like DeGrom, sure, but not for Happ.

Cashman never loses trades so we'll probably be disappointed if Happ is traded to the Yankees.

To be honest Frazier should be starting over Gardner right now.

OK maybe suxx is too strong. He's an average CF trending downwards.

Shawn Kelley for Barbato didn't work out very well. Eduardo Nunez for Sulbaran didn't either. He definitely wins more than he loses, although to be fair he's the buyer of established guys more often than the seller, which helps since a lot of prospects bust.

Frazier's a stretch, but in division premium's a real thing.

In saying that I don't understand your hard line that Happ can't get Burnes and Phillips as a return? Or Frazier straight up in division is a premium price.

I can go with that.

He is probably the fan favorite right now as well (and can speak English)
