MarcoSanchez Verified Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Two years in, and the Chris Sale trade looks great for the Redsox. Moncada is still a below average hitter and Kopech looks like a reliever.
vdartanian Verified Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 That AC won't do s*** if you've got that much sunlight shining in. Are you aware how AC works?
Art Vandelay Verified Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I don't know, I think he has a point. There's a library I go to that has a lot of glass windows, and even when the AC is on, you don't really feel it. With a space as large as the dome, do you feel the AC? If it works, though, there's no reason to not try with our roof.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Are you aware how AC works? Have you not been in a room with a s*** ton of windows on a hot summers day and even with the AC on it gets hot?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Trevor Bauer is ridiculous. As a pitcher or as a human?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Trevor Bauer is ridiculous. All for nothing too.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 As a pitcher or as a human? His free agency will be interesting as he's publicly stated he's only going to sign one year deals.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 As a pitcher or as a human? As a pitcher and human he's pretty entertaining. He's a metalhead too, so that's a +1 in my books.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Eh, Frazier kinda looks a bit gross. If we're dealing both I'd rather aim somewhere else. I wish LA were more of a realistic target, a few guys there. Verdugo for JD and Happ would be nice. Alex Vurdugo and Dustin May for Happ and Donaldson. That would be a pretty good deal.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 His free agency will be interesting as he's publicly stated he's only going to sign one year deals. lol... really? That'd be incredibly dumn.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 lol... really? That'd be incredibly dumn. Maybe. What's worth more? Six 1 year deals at the max you can get each year or one six year deal?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Maybe. What's worth more? Six 1 year deals at the max you can get each year or one six year deal? Security, he's a smart guy, he should know better especially being a pitcher.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Maybe. What's worth more? Six 1 year deals at the max you can get each year or one six year deal? 6 one year deals would be worth more...but only if you're healthy enough, and perform well enough to get those 6 individual deals at a hefty pricetag.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Security, he's a smart guy, he should know better especially being a pitcher. Yeah, set yourself up for life, then go year to year the rest of your career if you really want to.

There's no real reason to think his performance will fall off a cliff, he's only gotten better. Also, if he gets injured he would still get paid handsomely by a team.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 How much would Bauer get on a 1 year deal in 2019 assuming he was a free agent?
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Yeah, set yourself up for life, then go year to year the rest of your career if you really want to. You could also argue that getting 1 year at 20 to 30 mil already has you set for life.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I dunno if I'd wanna risk going year to year as a pitcher. You could just turn into a pumpkin at any time with TOS or a shoulder tear or even TJ.

It's just a case of maximizing your earnings vs job security, I guess. I just find it interesting as theres really no precedent for it for a player of his talent level. He sure isn't conventional.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I forgot to mention that he has a bet with a friend in which if he signs a multiyear MLB deal his friend gets to shoot him in the nuts with a paintball gun from a close distance.

It's really dumn but I'm sure he really trusts his whole throwing program and his arm for now has been incredibly durable. He's an unorthodox player all around but it's gotten him results thus far in his career. Will be interesting to watch unfold.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 The f*** just happened to end that Astros-As game?

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Author Posted July 11, 2018 That Cody Ross bat flip was something to behold.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Is that guy being serious? Not sure. But hasn't he had other ridiculous takes?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 (edited) https://imgur.com/gallery/eTYPsDZ Not sure if everyone saw this last night. Funny way to end the game. Bregman's a beast. 155 wRC+ now. Edited July 11, 2018 by Brownie19
