The best part about this is that Rick Anderson is the pitching coach. It's like they went from Mike Trout to Yuniesky Betancourt in one fell swoop.

 

Can't wait for the Tigers to prove to everyone that pitching to contact is a good idea.

And MLB hands CB Bucknor home plate duties for tomorrow’s game. He shouldn’t even be allowed to buy a ticket to sit in the crowd, he’d botch that.

Can anyone think of a more baffling demotion?

Swoop in and get Gray, Shatkins. Find a way.

 

I know it's a different Gray, but what about Happ for Sonny Gray, with us picking up the cost difference? We'd get a pitcher we control for a reasonable price for an extra year (and one that may have that short porch getting into his head), and the Yankees help solidify their rotation for the playoffs this year. We could always look to resign Happ in the offseason.

Happ trade needs to be for long term assets, IMO

It'll be interesting to see. I'm not sure Happ will return a high end asset (even though he probably should), and I'd kinda prefer something like Gray to a couple wildcard guys.
