Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Lol Gibby My god, Stroman is such a f***ing moron. It's so weird to want a guy to play for your favourite team while at the same time look forward to the day he's traded/leaves via FA.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 I just don’t get why he feels he needs to talk about baseball management when he he clearly has no clue. If I’m Atkins or Shapiro I would tell him to keep his mouth shut and pitch

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Do you think any other teams fanbase dislikes Stroman as much as his own does?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Do you think any other teams fanbase dislikes Stroman as much as his own does? I think the hate is pretty well confined to this message board. The casuals probably don't see or hear any of what he puts out there.

If I’m Atkins or Shapiro I would tell him to keep his mouth shut and pitch That will never happen and that's the same line that Fox New Anchor said to LeBron James. Shut up and Dribble lol. I don't care much for his antics off the mound but I just don't pay attention to his social media anymore. He is who he is. And as long as he continues to good at throwing baseballs he can be on my team any day.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 100% disagree Yeah tons of casuals see his stuff on Twitter.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Yeah tons of casuals see his stuff on Twitter. Possibly, but do they attach the same douche factor? Or do they just eat it up like Skittles and marvel at his amazingness?
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Possibly, but do they attach the same douche factor? Or do they just eat it up like Skittles and marvel at his amazingness? The answer is both
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Possibly, but do they attach the same douche factor? Or do they just eat it up like Skittles and marvel at his amazingness? I see quite the mixed reaction. The really dumb casuals, like bottom of the barrel types (Leaves fans) will jump at any opportunity to suckle on his microdick but others seem fed up with his tiresome ********.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Possibly, but do they attach the same douche factor? Or do they just eat it up like Skittles and marvel at his amazingness? They eat it up. The majority of people are incapable of critical thinking.

Lumping all Leafs fans together is something that a dumb casual would do. Be better than that.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 They eat it up. The majority of people are incapable of critical thinking. That's kinda my point. I don't think the "fan base" as a whole hates Stroman at all, but the small minority that does ... really hates him. He's nowhere near Phil Kessel level.

ChrisS Verified Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 A lot of casual are becoming aware of his antics and are starting to dislike him more. He will still be popular with the young social media hashtag moron crowd. We all want Bo and Vlad to eventually come up when the time is right but Stroman needs to think before he opens his mouth, "hey maybe me pumping their tires and stating I want them up now, im going to piss off my teammates and make management look incompetent.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 Can you imagine how obnoxious he's gonna be if he gets traded? "Oh I guess they don't believe in me, I'll just go over here to this other city and play with the brothers"...and the first time he comes back to Toronto...lol
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 This thread is racist Correct. Douchebaggery comes in all colours. HDMDBaggery
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 This thread is racist Nothing to do with race. Brett Lawrie was a douche of the same mould. Stro has more talent but hasn't accomplished s*** yet and talks like This is his show. Aaron Judge is who I wish Stro behaved like. Professional, courteous and a killer. Stro has small man syndrome.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Nothing to do with race. Brett Lawrie was a douche of the same mould. That's an incredibly racist thing to say, lol. They aren't even comparable. Stroman is intelligent, accomplished, confident, and an endlessly hard-working erudite about his craft. Lawrie is an immature and lazy man-boy who has already retreated from the realm of effort and struggle. To even compare them is just beyond the pale of reasonable discourse. Hilarious that your ideal version of Stroman is based on someone bi-racial -- a black persona watered down by whiteness (visibly). You are a racist bigot and you need to unpack your backpack of toxic white privilege.

You are a racist bigot and you need to unpack your backpack of toxic white privilege. Have you even considered why Brett lost all that weight? Did you think maybe he said "hmm, I feel trapped in this body and I can't do baseball anymore." Could you even imagine the mental strife he must be going through? No, because you needed a f***ing punchline for your stupid joke. You know, when he comes out as Brenda Lawrie, I sure hope you receive Twitter justice. Assuming gender in 2018, what is wrong with this world?

The fact is Marcus Stroman needs to focus on his game instead of making everything about himself. He has an ego. I couldnt care If Aaron Judge was an alien. Look at the way he conducts himself and lets face it, he is 10 times the star.

Expos81 Verified Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 I personally do think that the very nature of being a 'fan' of a team involves liking the players that represent the team. Yes, we want them to be skilled and deliver results but we also want to like and admire them. In my father's day it was different. You hear stories all the time about a member of the Maple Leafs living on your street. Being a somewhat middle-class person. Times have changed. These guys make more in one season than many of us will make in our whole careers. But still , we follow them , cheer for them and want to in some way relate to them. Why did everyone love Munenori Kawasaki so much ? Why do fans seem to love the scrappers and grinders so much ? Because we admire and in some way , relate to their struggle. Carlos Delgado ,Edwin Encarnacion and Roy Halladay were beloved by the fans of Toronto. Yes, there were exceptional at their craft but they also endeared themselves to us through their class , charm and humility. Not sure about you guys but it seems that in every office , work setting or team environment there is almost always the guy who is just a dick. He can only think of himself. He is completely self-absorbed. However, if he does his job and produces we tolerate him. Stroman feels like that guy. He has delivered some great performances and his talent and will are undeniable. But ... he's a dick! Two things that seem clear about this post: 1) I have not heard one person say that Stroman is lacking in ability and has fallen short performance-wise. This is clearly about him being a total doucheasaurus. Anyone refuting this or denying it is either Marcus himself , a member of his family or is a jag off himself and doesn't yet know it. 2) This is NOT about race or colour! I have been on many boards where people hiding behind the veil of anonymity will fly their bigot flag. If this were about race someone would have let some nasty garbage fly. Hasn't happened. Marcus is an intolerable , insufferable jerk. Period. Full stop. The odds of Stroman being able to sustain his level of performance given his stature are very low. Not impossible , just improbable. The Jays should plot out an exit strategy to capitalize on the asset at it's peak value. Once he's gone ... none of us on here will mourn his absence so long as the return in the trade is equitable.
AGL_91 Verified Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Come on, you can hate someone of a different race based of personality traits and it not be racist. I find Stroman is a cocky, me first person that cares about his own success more then he should. I know all players number one goal is their own success, but their something about how Stro is always trying to sell himself that rubs me the wrong way. I hope he wins every game he starts, but I refuse to buy into what is trying to do off the field.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Come on, you can hate someone of a different race based of personality traits and it not be racist. No one was making a serious suggestion of racism. Laika was just being an ass.
