I'm getting more comfortable with the idea of trading Donaldson and gearing up for 2020 when Vlad and Bo are ready.

I'm been on this boat for the last year. If JD is not going to be here beyond 2018 I'd rather trade him now and try to help set up the next core.

Given that Stanton has trouble staying healthy and Judge could very easily face the sophomore slump, that's not an unreasonable suggestion imo.

 

The last time Stanton was hurt was 2 years ago when he tore his hamstring, getting a baseball to the face shouldn't go against him as injury prone, I think this type of thinking is blown out of proportion.

 

Edit: Meh, maybe listening to Heyman was my downfall here, he does seem to get hurt often upon further review, lol. Last year was his only healthy year...

Zero chance Harper goes to the Yanks. And the Yanks after this move are projected to be 4th in the AL. I like the move for them but the impact for them is less than several other teams. But it does allow them to make other moves which could improve the team to that next level

So is Gleyber Torres going to be the front runner for the starting 2B job? Or do they sign a veteran as insurance in case he doesn't seem quite MLB ready in March?

If the Yankees can't move Ellsbury(they can eat half of his contract), he'll be used the same as last season as a 4/5th OF. Frazier likely gets moved for SP.
