burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 You can see his eyes roll back in the replay... hopefully he is alright Yeah that was pretty gross.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Can someone explain what happened?
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Yup. Possible ACL, LCL, MCL, and/or meniscus tears and sprains, dumn-dumn.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Kinda bad that since they challenged it they have to show that gruesome replay on the video board.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Why is moncada down...? You kneed a dude in the head He couldn't move his f***ing leg, bro? lol
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Think it was a pretty obvious catch. Clearly in his glove and secured and then after he got knocked out it rolled out of his glove. Kinda feel bad for the White Sox on the ruling.
wk680 Verified Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Why is moncada down...? You kneed a dude in the head The skull is a pretty hard object. Can't feel too good to get that smashed into your knee.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Can someone explain what happened? Pop-up in to shallow right, and Garcia and Moncada converge just as Garcia caught the ball. Moncada tries to get out of the way by hurdling Garcia, but his knee smoked Garcia in the side of the head on the hurdle.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Why is moncada down...? You kneed a dude in the head Probably a precaution...no need to risk anything given they just traded away half their team
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Possible ACL, LCL, MCL, and/or meniscus tears and sprains, dumn-dumn. Or worse, a broken Patella.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Or worse, a broken Patella. Yes, good call, Spank. Ah, man, this sucks. I hate seeing stuff like this.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Or worse, a broken Patella. Very possible given how hard the contact was

Kinda feel bad for the White Sox on the ruling. i'm pretty sure you have to make a transfer from glove to hand in order for it to be called a catch?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 i'm pretty sure you have to make a transfer from glove to hand in order for it to be called a catch? Yep, if it comes out for any reason other than intentially taking it out its not a catch
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Yes, good call, Spank. Ah, man, this sucks. I hate seeing stuff like this. Yeah, that was one of the worst I've seen in years, maybe ever. Just brutal, Garcia was out cold before he hit the ground and Moncada couldn't move his leg at all.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 I just saw the replay of that collision. That was brutal, holy s***.

Look at how awful it really was, bro: Words don't even do it justice.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 f*** that's awful. It was brutal man, full speed contact.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Look at how awful it really was, bro: Words don't even do it justice. They have shown it 1000 times on the white sox broadcast and the one announcer has gone on and on how it was a catch and Garcia voluntarily dropped the ball lol
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 The collision that took out Schwarber's knee last season was pretty bad too. 'Twas, Madlock and Fernandez comes to mind. Our Buck and Posey at the plate.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Martin's putting on a framing clinic tonight.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 X-Rays negative, Moncada dodged a bullet, I can't see how Garcia doesn't escape a concussion, though. Good news.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 X-rays negative for Moncada...deciding about wetter or not to get an MRI...might just be a bruise

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Buck: "Movement in the Jays bullpen." Tabler's response: "Guys are getting up and stretching." .....brilliant.
