Listening to the Astro's feed right now. Apparently Pillar had his head down and kept on running. So he "forced". Pierce was forced out. He was still slow, but I don't know if I can fault him if Pillar isn't looking ahead.

Nah I rewatched the replay, the others are right, Pillar was at third just when Pearce rounded, Pillar wasnt looking ahead shoulda just parked at 2nd

He did nothing wrong, the mistake there was by Pillar.

The out is on Pillar. Not scoring is on Pearce.

 

Pearce f***ed up and Pillar should have noticed so they both made a mistake but the initial and biggest mistake was Pearce trying to tag on what was 1 ft away from a HR

His line wasn't spectacular but holding the Astros down like that definitely bolds well for him being a moveable piece. Especially if he has a nice July.

Martin's OBP is .375, despite the bad luck of a .256 BABIP. He could return a nice piece. One of McGuire, Jansen, Pentecost should make it.

Agree on the first part.

 

Martin's value is limited with his contract. But if you look at everything but batting average where he really has terrible luck he's having a good season. Despite some injury setbacks.

 

His off-season workout program has worked extremely well for him. His legs have been healthy all year. Just that shoulder and neck issue.
