glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 *Red Button* Baaaaaaaaaahhhhhh... you have no clue about his value. His value won't get any higher by waiting, and the new CBA makes holding on to players and letting them walk pretty pointless. If the Jays were an 87 win team in 2017, then sure, keep JD and make a run in 2018. If they finish sub-.500, chances are they won't be good enough next year either. It's risky holding on to him.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2017 Author Posted June 30, 2017 The record... holds no value, meat. The player does... i think what he's getting at is that if the overall team talent isn't good enough to win this year, then it's probably not going to be good enough next year and beyond, so spending big on a JD extension doesn't make much sense, and if you're not extending him it makes more sense to deal him before next season

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I hate Ezequiel Carrera. Steve Pearce is getting the shaft so we can watch this guy's stupid face and hilariously over the top tv dives.

Jayday Verified Member Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 do you want a pat on the back or something? A name with LGB in it ..not a chance !!
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Steve Pearce. If someone "accidentally" dropped a bowling ball on Carrera's foot I would buy them a large coffee from Tims....everyday for a week.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 If Zeke gets traded at the deadline I will consider this season a win.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 (edited) It seems Goins is a lock??? Whoops.. Edited June 30, 2017 by Spanky99

Steve Pearce is getting the shaft so we can watch this guy's stupid face and hilariously over the top tv dives. Pearce's s***** April sealed his fate. A new player starting off poorly for Gibbons is like a death sentence, especially when competing for playing time with his golden child. I think what offended me more was Zeke pinch hitting for Pearce a few days ago. The Jays have a manager who thinks Zeke is a better hitter than Pearce. That's a bad sign. Gibby's been less annoying since the new front office took over, but holy s***, he can still be the same idiot he was prior to that.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Yes!!!! Keep up with the season is over attitude. We need this. This board is the perfect contrarian indicator. A summary of a few points off the top of my head: Goins will not stick - 2013 Saunders for Happ - great trade Estrada for Lind - could have done better Stroman is better than Sanchez - March 2016 Sanchez is better than Stroman - March 2017 Smoak sucks why the contract extension Grilli what a great pickup he's the anchor to the BP for the next season - August 2016 This team sucks time to sell - May 2015 This team sucks time to sell - May 2016 This team sucks time to sell - April 2017 I see a nice long winning streak coming up.

Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
