Estrada always outpitched his ability. I've said this for two seasons and idiots kept saying he's a stud. He's not......he has middling skills and a great change up. If the change up is thrown too much and in the strike zone too often, it becomes batting practice (especially in hot weather ).

As long as they stay away from the middle of the plate and throw an offspeed pitch it doesn't matter if it's a college freshman or a seasoned veteran.

 

But to your point....they guess more so on a greater % of pitches than other teams/types of hitters.
