baubau Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Thank God. Maile is trash. I want to disagree with you, but I cannot argue against a -34 wRC+. My expectations of a backup catcher has been traumatized by Thole, Navarro and Salty.

wk680 Verified Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Aaron Sanchez back to the DL with finger laceration. Unbelievable. So I believe it's the same middle finger issue where the edge of that finger is placed along the seams for the curveball grip. Maybe he should scrap the curveball and use some other offspeed pitches (changeup and slider). I know he doesn't use the slider now so would be starting from scratch and need to pitch some in the minors maybe while he develops it. But it seems this problem is not going to go away if he just keeps doing the same thing. Only other alternative will be to shut him down for a very long time to let this thing fully heal.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 I saw this coming last night. Too bad. Has anyone actually seen a close up of his middle finger on his pitching hand?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 He really shouldn't have started the sixth with the way he was labouring and how f***ed his finger looked.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Maybe they should just remove the entire nail rather than part of it. The edge of the partial nail is probably digging into his finger.
