GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 http://deadline.com/2017/05/pitch-canceled-fox-one-season-1202081028/ Whether it was scheduling or other reasons, it never drew large enough viewership, though its ratings were pretty stable. In L+SD, the series averaged 3 million viewers and a 0.8 in 18-49. It was one of two new drama series Fox introduced in the fall that did not get back orders, along with The Exorcist, which is expected to come back. No more Ginnie!

LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I saw one preview and knew at the point I would never watch it. So this is unsurprising
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 She should have been a knuckleballer in the A.L. if they wanted it to be even remotely plausible.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 "Whether it was scheduling or other reasons, it never drew enough viewers." lol Heard it might be a licensing thing too. I didn't watch the show but didn't it use real MLB logos and such? If so, pretty sure that's expensive. I'm not sure that's the only reason, but possibly one of the strikes against it.

If so, pretty sure that's expensive. I'm not sure that's the only reason, but possibly one of the strikes against it. It had high production values, tons of licensed products and loads of cameos. The ratings weren't high enough to attract the kind of sponsorship needed to offset the cost. Dramas are already the most expensive genre to produce before you even start to deal with all the specific costs related to Pitch.
CanuckofChicago Verified Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I know many people on this board did not watch or weren't big fans of the show, but my wife and I who are big baseball fans (not casuals) enjoyed the show. It was a nice distraction from the "the world is ending" shows. As someone who watched the entire series, the production values were really high, but it was cool that MLB was willing to invest in the show. I was hoping that there would be a second season. Again it was a fun show to watch.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Meh... I enjoyed it, probably would've continued to watch it(Ginnie's easy on the eyes), but I'm not surprised, you can't throw something back out there when you're losing money.
metafour Verified Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Never heard of it. It was just the latest in a long line of postmodernist BS propaganda that is supposed to warp your mind into believing that there is no biological difference between the TWO sexes. The show revolved around a minority woman becoming the first female pitcher in the Major Leagues; because as we know this is entirely plausible, and if you argue otherwise you are just a misogynistic cis-gendered white male!

SJW's sound like they may be outraged by this.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Girls can't play baseball. You know it, I know it, the kids from Sandlot know it, everybody knows it.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 The show was a massive success. The only reason it was cancelled was that the establishment wanted to silence the voices of women and minorities because they felt threatened. They need to make sure that POC and women aren't inspired enough to fight back against the mysognistic, racist power brokers.

metafour Verified Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 They are, lol. "This is sending such a bad message to young girls!" What, that you shouldn't bother pursuing something that is physically impossible? That you probably aren't going to be very happy striving for a career in professions that your biology most likely disagrees with? Western civilization is doomed.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Was the show on regular channel or netflix exclusive type show?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Was the show on regular channel or netflix exclusive type show? It aired on Fox. I saw about 20 minutes of it. Looked ok enough if you're in to that sort of stuff.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I bet like 50% of the people whining about this didn't watch a single episode. Stop making political TV shows like this. No one cares about your stupid identity politics. I wonder how Kylie Bunbury feels about being a progressive mascot.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Wait did they just cancel the documentary, or did she actually get released from her contract?
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Wait did they just cancel the documentary, or did she actually get released from her contract? It is a fictional TV series.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Was the show on regular channel or netflix exclusive type show? Holy f***, Jonn... hit the link?
