West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Pearce played most of the spring games in left so having him and Smoak everyday could well be a possibility! However someone did make the point that Estrada is a flyball pitcher so maybe having Zeke for the game isn't too bad of an idea Last?! I liked the beginning optimism but come on! Well what I should have said was the last playoff push with this core.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Looking forward to watching Syndergaard carve up the Barves. Over/under, 12 Ks? I got the Nats game up to watch the same thing basically.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Gibby is playing 3D chess 4D Chess you mean, coming with the MINDGAMES
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Lets Go Blue Jays!!!!!!!!!!!
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Buck Showalter is playing checkers by using traditional and dated moves like not using your closer unless you have a lead. Gibby is mustering the most he can out of 1B and LF by playing underwater interdemensional 4D Chess. Jays will win this game 5-4 on the strength of John Gibbons' brainpower.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Make sure if you want to play the Homerun Contest this year you post your pick before the game!!!!!!!!!
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Any being with the ability to view things in the 4th dimensional would be able to see all of space and time (past, present, and future) at once and thus would make 100% correct moves. Gibbons is not that being.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I can't believe its actually the start of the season. Pumped. f*** the O's. I must have watched Edwin's WC walk off 150 times. Nothing better than Weiters hearing the crack and then turning to walk back to his dugout, knowing it was gone. All with the best reliever in the game standing in the pen. I have lower expectations this year. Meh off season and thinking pen is light and the rotation cant be as good as last year. Can Morales and Pearce offset the loss of Edwin and does Jose bounce back with a big year? Can Travis stay off the DL? Can Pillar take a f***ing BB? Its always only what happens between the lines that matters. Go Jays!

We've got a relatively deep lineup and a deep rotation but no depth behind the starters at all. We are paper thin at damn near every position. If we stay healthy we will compete. If we get even moderate injury problems I think it tanks our chances moreso than other teams. Last year the health was impeccable, especially in the rotation.

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Just my imagination or does MLB Gameday look sexier than ever. Looks like they polished it a bit for sure.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 can we please have commentators for us working plebs I'll see what I can do..
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I have no criticisms of this lineup. I'd swap Pearce and Martin but that's extremely minor. Gibby off to a great start!
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I'd swap Pearce and Martin but that's extremely minor. Gibby off to a great start! He has been Fangraphing lately you can tell lol

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I'd swap Pearce and Martin but that's extremely minor. Gibby off to a great start! So minor that it's not worth the risk of a perceived slight to a veteran player. Not that I think Russell would ever make anything of it but I get that there's a locker room culture based argument for making the new guy earn it.

Tis a good point indeed, my nitpick has been officially retracted.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Didn't consider that. Tis a good point indeed, my nitpick has been officially retracted. You were only using 3 dimensions with that nitpick, gotta remember that John Gibbons is always thinking with 4.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 66.67% of Orioles Hangout thinks that the Orioles will win more than 85 games. lol!
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 66.67% of Orioles Hangout thinks that the Orioles will win more than 85 games. lol! with that Lineup and Bullpen, this is a serious possibility. Orioles are going to be coming back in a lot of games.

Gen.Disarray Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Managed to hatch an escape from work! Yeaaahhh opening day! Enjoy people, let's go Jays!!
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Didn't realize the Mets started the year with Granderson and Bruce in the outfield. That is some horrible division losing outfield defence.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 I think they win 75 and finish in last place. I hope Bautista hits a dinger to mathematically eliminate them from the playoff race.

wk680 Verified Member Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Morales and Pearce > Edwin. Yes but is Morales and Pearce > Edwin and Saunders ? Personally I think yes, assuming Pearce can stay healthy. I am still not convinced Saunders' bad knee is going to hold up much longer, but I guess that is partly why nobody was willing to give him more than 1 yr guaranteed.
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 So... do I light up fireworks in their GDT if we win today or save likely my 1 shot for later?
