King Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I'm really looking forward to watching Houston this year, they've got an exciting lineup. The Cubs are primed to repeat. The Nats will be must watch with the first full season of Trea Turner, and the addition of Eaton, and other studs like Harper, Stras, Scherzer etc. I feel like there is a ton of pre-breakout candidates this year, more so than years past, should be fun to follow all these guys. For the Jays, I think SRF could force callup consideration by midseason, if he's posting absurd numbers in AA. I'm hoping this is the year Stroman puts everything together, I think he can do it.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 For Bautista to have a monster season, and for Smoak to be released as soon as possible For signs that the future isn't as bleak as it currently seems, and for a hope that this isn't going to be the next 6-8 years of below .500 baseball where the front office constantly dumpster dives and doesn't spend a majority of the payroll on replacement value players (Smoak, Morales, relievers signed etc.) Rogers needs to admit that it was a mistake signing Shapiro, this man doesn't really know anything about Baseball. AA was the true hero, and I hope that after the Shapiro experiment ends, we welcome Alex as the president of this team.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2017 Author Posted February 20, 2017 5 minutes and this thread is already ruined Lock it up
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 The blue chip prospects Shatkins says they want to add to the farm.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I'm excited to see what Steve Pearce can do although he seems pegged to be on the short side of the platoon to start. I'm excited to see the usual suspects- Donaldson, Bautista, Tulo, Martin, etc. It will be nice to have a good starter throw every day. I'm also excited on keeping tabs on the farm system. Seems like we actually have some guys getting closer to contributing even though we will see more of that in 2018 than we will this season.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 Excited to see the powerhouse teams like Cleveland, Nats, Cubs. Also excited to see Houston and Seattle fight for the AL west. Seattle is gonna be solid this year. Looking forward to a bounceback season from Bautista, and hoping Pompey can take the LF job and run with it.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I'm looking forward to fantasy baseball and DFS. BJMB DFS contest will be back for year 2. Bigger and better this season too!
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Houston and Seattle are both intriguing teams to follow this year. I'd like to see big James Paxton turn into an ace. LAD, WSH, CHC are always fun to follow. The Angels might not completely suck this year! f*** the Red Sox.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 BJMB DFS contest will be back for year 2. Bigger and better this season too! I like the sounds of this. Gotta play every week to maximize my odds.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Reading and hopefully watching the continued development of SRF, Vlad Jr, Bichette, etc. I'm hoping Stroman finally has a season in the MLB similar to his AAA season a few years ago with a high K/9. I hope Liriano has a good season tossing to Martin, and Sanchez continues his development. I'm excited to watch Eric Thames and will go see one of their games when they come to Rogers Centre.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I'm looking forward to it starting
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I'm really excited to watch Tulo play this year, not sure why exactly but just something about it. Seems more confident and his numbers last year were unlucky so will be intriguing to see if he can get back to being a 4-5 WAR player.
Gary Verified Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I'm looking forward to following the musical career of Barry Davis. He's destined to become a star.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Blue Jays winning the World Series!
SAAviour Verified Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Watching Vlad Jr. Turn into a beast in the minors. Seeing if Pompey can turn things around and be a nice surprise. More playoff baseball! Going to the dome for first time in a LONG time.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 - Blue Jays Baseball - MLB baseball in general - my first season in the LoD - warm weather
Ray Verified Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Very interested to see the Braves this season. There's some potential there. Swanson, Inciarte, and Freeman are solid core pieces. I could see Kemp, Markakis, Phillips and Garcia all having good seasons as well. They picked up some nice innings eaters in Dickey and Colon. Colon is coming off a solid 2016 campaign and it'll be interesting to see if Dickey can conjure up some of that NL East magic he had with the Mets. I could see them having a slightly above .500 season. Maybe even contend for a wildcard if everything goes right, but that's a bit of a long shot. Either way, I'm excited to see them this season.
spittin Verified Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I'm pretty excited to see how Rowdy Rowdy Tellez performs. He could spell the end of time in Toronto for Smoak and also fill Edwin's shoes adequately all at the same time. He could just suck s*** too, should be interesting.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I'm looking forward to it starting This. Story-lines tell themselves...
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Bryce vs Syndengaard Don't believe the hype.
Qwerty Verified Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 I'm excited for the bullpen.
Muck Bartinez Verified Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 -I'm excited to see if Morales' exit velocity/batted ball profile from last year stays similar and translates to solid success at the RC. His contract has taken a lot of heat this offseason, so I'd like to see it justified in some regard. -I would love to see a full-ish season of Travis/Tulo up the middle, but that could just be a pipe dream. -Looking forward to developing arms, considering Estrada and Liriano are FA after this season. -A dream come true would be Smoak either having a solid season,or disappearing completely into the Francisco/Colabello ether.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Watching Biagini outperform Stroman, for the next three years.
TholesWeirdEye Verified Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Waiting to see if MLB Network will blackout the Jays games.
