HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 welp now we know why they don't like it other. Greene is his BFF now
glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 That big ass space in the picture between Stro and Sanchez probably won't help the rumors of their shattered bromance.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Hearing that Sanchize's ego grew quite a bit last season. Can't fit his and Stro's in the same room now. Big Ego + Boras = $200M contract. Bye Bye Sanchez
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 welp now we know why they don't like it other. Greene is his BFF now Trade the Boras client ASAP Sanchez for Alex Bregman
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 just wait until Sanchez continues to destroy the division while Stroman gets babip'd to death. He's gonna get frustrated, jealous and take it out on Sanchez

He's gonna get frustrated, jealous and take it out on Sanchez One way to fix that is miss more bats. The whole pitch to contact s*** didn't work out for him. He was pitching to a lot of doubles in the gap that almost got him sent to AAA.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Maybe their hatred will fuel them into competing for the best pitcher in baseball.

He was pitching to a lot of doubles in the gap that almost got him sent to AAA. Yeah. He's got this weird passion about pitching to contact and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's Buerhle getting in his head, who knows.. All we do know, is that changed slightly for a 2 month period last season and hopefully that bleeds into this season.

When Tulo is raking - the Jays are typically in flight.

Absolutely And he's always rock steady on defense IIRC Phillips also said Tulo has the highest fielding percentage for a shortstop in the history of baseball. I know fielding % is meh but still... It's just nice having IF defenders so reliable that when balls are hit to them you feel good cause you know they're almost certainly going to make the routine outs and not stress you out or make the 1B have to make heroic picks
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 Yes, when Tulo (and also Martin) are hitting well it's so satisfying. They're good hitters who have had some very bad stretches for the Jays so you kind of stop counting on them at times. Hated that feeling that if EE/JB/JD weren't hitting that no one else would score any runs
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Agreed if Tulo avoids his abysmal start he will be fine. He also couldn't possibly get that unlucky again.

It's just nice having IF defenders so reliable that when balls are hit to them you feel good cause you know they're almost certainly going to make the routine outs and not stress you out or make the 1B have to make heroic picks Sometimes fielding percentage is a by product of not getting to a lot of balls and not being able to make anything other than routine plays but we know that young Tulo was a tremendous defender and that his fielding percentage wasn't artificially inflated that way and now that his range is on the downswing, it's nice to know that he's basically automatic with what he does get to and doesn't give away outs.

He "only" missed 31 games last season - that's the biggest risk factor IMO. As long as he's relatively healthy I'm expecting good things.

Much better than Reyes who despite super speed somehow had s*** range AND botched routine plays far too regularly
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Tulo is the man, would love nothing more than to see a vintage season from him this year.

spats Verified Member Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 I have a friend who was at the complex today and has been going to Spring training for years. He was really impressed with Alford and Ramirez. I know it's early but it would be nice to get a couple of breakout prospects this year....can't wait to get down there. Fortunately, he will be sending me daily updates.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Urena Elmore Ceciliani Tellez Alford McGuire Dwight Smith Jon Berti Juan Graterol SP - Casey Lawrence This is like Buffalos opening day lineup except for maybe Alford

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Alford crushed that pitch! 2 doubles off colon....baseball's back!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Alford crushed that pitch! I'm sure Jerry is telling some boring story about nothing and ending with if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me.
