P2F Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 So this is about as inconsequential as a poll gets, but... INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW! So when does next season become this season, and, subsequently, when does this season become last season? P.S. Only 41 days to go until pitchers and catchers report to ST!
over500 Verified Member Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 it becomes this season when it's current season.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 it becomes this season when it's current season. So during exhibition games, you're actually referring to it as 'next season'?

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 As things stand now, You dont want it to be next season, trust me. All rests on whether all this waiting out the market will pay off for Shapiro
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 All of you that said "At the turn of the calendar year" are idiots and I've just lost all respect for you. There's only one right answer here.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I think the calendar flips over when pitchers and catchers first report to ST.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I think the calendar flips over when pitchers and catchers first report to ST. You can't flip the calendar that day though. It's in the middle of a month. And then it gets confusing, do you wait until then to flip to Feb, or on that day do you flip it to March?

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 When the 1st pitch is thrown in the 1st game that means something
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 So let's say the Regular Season starts April 1st, on March 31st if I say this season I'm referring to the 2016 and if I say next season I'm referring to 2017? Doesn't feel right.
