In case you're wondering who's the best with RISP:

http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/split/39/sort/avg/order/true

Jays 29th.. 3 other supposed contenders are also struggling with RISP in the Astros, Mariners.. even Cleveland (really need Kipnis back ASAP).. and Arizona's #1, which explains their strong start..

Of course, it's a very small sample size, and things can change in a week or two..

As for pitching with RISP:

http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/pitching/split/39/sort/opponentAvg/order/false

It may not be a reliable stat, but Cleveland is REALLY struggling to hold runners... of course, it doesn't help they just played Texas and Arizona..two very strong offensive teams. Minnesota is doing a good job keeping runners at 2nd and 3rd from scoring.. did anyone really expect this? Once again, it's a small sample size.

Very few people on here are going to engage in discussions about this type of topic based on such a SSS. You should call up Tabby if you want to discuss this further.

No I think he was saying it to demonstrate how good the defence is, albeit in a clumsy way, rather than saying Pillar's offense would or could improve.

Trout's defence isn't that spectacular. If pillar hit like him he would instantly be GOAT.

Trout's offense contributes substantially more than Pillar's defense though. If Pillar's offense contributed as much as his defense he still wouldn't catch up to Trout value wise.

Obviously, but this notion that he would be on par with Trout if he hit like him is what I took exception to. Trout is basically a league average defender in CF, if you added Trout's bat to Pillars defense you would have a 15+ WAR guy, hence the GOAT label.

Edit: I might of misinterpreted a previous post, I thought he was saying if Pillar hit like Trout they would be equal players, which would infer that their defense was on par.

Lindor continues to clobber the ball--just hit his 4th HR,.. Edwin, not so much...he's off to another slow start in Cleveland.

C'mon man, you think people in Cleveland are worried about EE? Can you stop with the small sample opinions, please.

Are you trolling or something? Nearly ever post you've made over the past 3-4 days has been SSS related stuff.

He's been doing it for years now, I've asked so many times if he could pull back a bit, but to no avail.

Point out the small sample opinion

Angel Pagan seems to have backed himself into a corner. No 48 Hr announcement, plus little to no news since. Aside from offers(reportedly) considerably less than 5 million. It'd be nice if he took the shot with the Birds.

Indians broadcast just hit technical problems--now we have to suffer through Hawk Harrelson....

Not on my feed, although I don't mind the Hawk once in awhile.

The White Sox manager is a moron... he'd get eaten alive on this forum.

Wow... EE hit into a DP he's lucky, lol.

Why is he a moron? He took out James Shields, who sucks, after he was about to face the middle of the Indians' lineup for the third time, in favour of a lefty for Michael Brantley and a RHP in Zach Putnam who is decent and can get strikeouts. Absolutely the right call.

I already told you why?(On the other forum) Anyhow... He was dealing... fell behind 2-1 and the manager called for a free base with 1 out in the 6th. Reliever proceeded to walk the next batter to load the bases, he got lucky on the DP, it worked out. Just saying.

Who does that?

Non-prospect. I recommend taking Bronson Arroyo instead.

It's a simple analogy. Basically, you're upset that Shields was pulled before facing the meat of the order for a third time. Third time through, hitters do much, much better. We know this. James Shields has a long track record of being terrible. We also know this. Taking him out before he had a chance to explode was a great move.

Spanky, I'm surprised you wanted him to stay out. If I start some shitbag early in the week and he gives me 6 strong against a good lineup, I want him out ASAP so I can lock in the solid PRODUKSHUN before it all goes to s***.

Or he gave up one hit in that inning since the first and had 6 K/BB from that point as well. Giving up a free bag in the 6th is egregious, the RP came in and walked the bags drunk... (still following) to get EE to hit into a DP. Pure f***ing luck.

It's not about him, though. f***.
