TRM does the hottest Jays, BTS does the Around Baseball new year post. I don't like change...things are getting f***ed around here and there will be bans, could be the next to post on this thread, could be random or could be the next to post on this thread.

Not sure if this was posted yet but Trout can legally become a free agent right now based on a California state law.

If I were him I would jump ship haha he doesn't seem like the type.

Any bold predictions for the rest of the MLB this year?

 

1.) there will be no drama between the Jays/Rangers this year

 

2.) JD's war is going to drop by a half

 

3.) Harper will continue to 'suck' and repeat his 2016 numbers

 

4.) Cubs will repeat as World Champions

 

5.) The Royals will be deadline sellers

 

6.) Surprise competitive team will be the Yankees

Rays declined Houston offer for Archer

 

"Luhnow [Astro’s GM] went to Tampa, from what I’m told, and said alright this is what we’ll give you for Chris Archer. We’ll give you Tucker. We’ll give you Martes. We’ll give you David Paulino, who is their second best pitching prospect. We’ll give you two more prospects for Archer and Tampa Bay, which kinda surprised me, said ‘no we need more than that if we’re going to trade Chris Archer.’"

Archer has a ridiculous contract. He is controlled until 2019, plus two team options, so until 2021.

 

Quintana is on the same contract, but he is controlled until 2020.

 

I guess you need to figure out which one is better and cheaper to acquire.

Archer has 5 extremely affordable years left on his contract (38.5M over the next 5 years), and is basically an ace who just turned 28. Yeah, I can see it.

2. Bryce Harper will have a higher WAR than Mike Trout.

5. The Mets will be deadline sellers.

 

6. Mike Trout will be traded at the end of the season.
