BTS Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 From the guy who turned a Dexter Fowler thread into the BBBB beer league softball hero stories discussion. Half of your babbling posts have nothing to do with the topic at hand. A lot of them are funny which is why no one cares, but you're the last person who should be preaching about being on topic. Look what you've done to this rule five thread after I simply responded to one of your questions. Hard false
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 26) Red Sox select Josh Rutledge from the Rockies ??? Josh Rutledge is basically baseball's Theon Greyjoy.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Is this now confirmed? Basically, here's more context
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 He likely isn't overly thrilled with his agent at the moment. Josh Rutledge is basically baseball's Theon Greyjoy.

I could have been reading a thread on Rule 5 news, but now I'm reading another barely legible page of outbursts from Chewbacca. Just like in the Edwin thread. And the Fowler thread. And a dozen others.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Look who showed up and if you look wok almost all the same picks as then were involved too. Maybe you should point that out as well next time! Sorry, are you and your girlfriends done now? I hope so too!
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 Thanks Money Penny johnny on the spot and a ******* as always too I see! Thanks for your input, you really should get over yourself! How has this mongoloid not been banned yet? There was actually decent topical discussion going on in this thread before the sideshow arrived.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 If you all just put posters you don't like on your ignore lists, it'd solve a lot of your issues. No need for insults.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 So BBBB asks a question, gets an honest answer, and then picks a fight. For all the complaining he does about people mistreating him, the guy might be the biggest ******* on the forum. I'm so glad he doesn't post in OT.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Money Penny you know you really are a *******! Perfect puppet boy for the League of Dicks!!! Have a Nice Day! Get over yourself ya knob cobbling Lil f***ing Pick! Do you have the faintest idea of how big a f***ing idiot you are?

He's not smart, not funny, not insightful, can barely write legible English and that's only most of the time, confrontational for no reason, derails every thread he posts in. Speaking as a regular, he definitely helps in my ignoring of the main board.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 If you all just put posters you don't like on your ignore lists, it'd solve a lot of your issues. No need for insults. This logic is backwards. "Hey guys, if you ALL just ignored BBBB, maybe threads wouldn't get completely derailed!" You know what's a surefire way to make sure no one can see his posts?

In fairness to everyone else, him being on an IL doesn't prevent him from wrecking threads. You just see a one-sided fight and then eventually silence because no one wants to wade through another drunken argument. The solution shouldn't be that the rest of us need to plug our ears harder.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I do enjoy BBBB's love affair with the exclamation point. It's remarkable.
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 What is a money penny anyway?
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I do enjoy BBBB's love affair with the exclamation point. It's remarkable. He's having an affair with the period too if his recent behaviour is any indication.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 If you all just put posters you don't like on your ignore lists, it'd solve a lot of your issues. No need for insults. Ignoring somebody won't stop you from seeing their shitposts quoted by others, and it won't stop threads with genuine discussion from being regularly derailed. This has always been an issue here. Morons like BBBB constantly getting free reign to throw threads off track with their garbage and then baiting everybody else into perpetuating the Troll Wars further (like I'm doing now; sorry). It's akin to trying to hold a productive forum at the town hall and having the drunk village idiot stumble in and make a scene. Whether people stop to point and laugh or whether they're genuinely frustrated by the distraction, everybody stops focusing on the discussion that had been occurring beforehand.
43211234 Verified Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Things worked out really well. Lost Smoral and Flores (who cares?), kept Rios and Perdomo and picked up a potential bullpen piece. A career minor league starter who sits 92-93 with reported deception and plus fastball command. Just need a find a half decent breaking ball and hope for an uptick or two in the velocity and he could become a valuable reliever. He likely isn't overly thrilled with his agent at the moment. He's probably in a better situation now, honestly. Just because he elected free agency doesn't mean he disliked the Red Sox org. He either gets to stick in the big leagues or he just goes back to the place he signed.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Padres are killing the rule 5 these days. Of course they are going to be keeping a Appalachian League SS on the big league roster all year if they don't come up with some kind of agreement with the Cards. Grabbed a guy that was probably on route to becoming a back end of the pen guy in Diaz as well. O's got the two best OF's available IMO.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/12/padres-acquire-rule-5-picks-miguel-diaz-luis-torrens.html According to MLBTR, the pieces that were traded were moved in this order: Diaz: Brewers –> Twins –> Padres Torrens: Yankees –> Reds –> Padres Haley: Red Sox –> Angels –> Padres –> Twins The result being that the San Diego Padres got the top three Rule 5 draft picks in Miguel Diaz (Twins pick, #1), Luis Torrens (Reds pick, #2) and Allen Cordoba (their own, #3).

And why was he kept in Rookie league for four years? lol. He doesn't seem to have struggled a whole lot and he's still only 22.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 They felt he wasn't close enough to the majors. Well that's what I meant with my next question. He wasn't close to the majors because they kept him in Rookie ball for four years for some reason, despite him posting pretty decent numbers. Guessing injuries or makeup issues or something? Seems pretty weird.

Late signee (signed at 17) then an Elbow Fracture at the end of 2014 would be the reason for his slow development but why they didn't protect him I have no clue. They finished the year with 4 players on the 60 man DL so maybe they have a roster crunch...although it's the Brewers they must have garbage to cut.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Interesting pick in Sparkman. Maybe he can be our own version of Romo (except he throws harder). He's also a switch hitting pitcher (lol).

Seems pretty weird. “You always understand when you leave talented players unprotected*there’s a chance they can get selected,” Stearns said. “Miguel is a talented player. We felt as though he’s a long way from the major leagues. “He’s never pitched above the Midwest League. It’s very unusual for guys to be able to make that jump. It’s certainly possible that Miguel is the exception to that rule. The Padres obviously saw something they like about him. “We have to be prepared for that but it would be the exception to the norm if someone is able to make that jump successfully and contribute at the major-league level.”
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/evaluating-the-2016-prospects-kansas-city-royals/ Read up on him earlier, sounds like a decent pick-up.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Oberholtzer is lefty (Plus for him) Atkins said he want one OF, backup catcher and 2 RP's via FA (25 more millions to spend) Did Atkins actually say 25 million to spend or was this reported by Davidi or something?
