The bad weather never came and my golfers played bad, lol.

Nad weather came and ended the tournament, lol... at least the guy that shot the lights out yesterday with a record round 60 won, Clark put on a clinic.

lol... I'm pumped for it too.

f*** yeah! I've taken Thursday and Friday off work to watch the golf and possibly have a few wobblies.

But why???

Unlike the last year, the Waste Management Phoenix Open is not a signature event this time around. Owing to this, the event’s prize purse has also been cut short from $20 million to $8.8 million. However, it still features some of the biggest names on the PGA Tour.

They're rotating the signature events every year

That makes sense, lol. I'm dumn... Nick Taylor shot a 60 to finish round 1 today, tied the tourney's course record. Woohoo!

Has Taylor taken over Conners as the best Canadian on tour? What a first round. Last year I was at the tourney and he had a great week as well.

Not quite, Canadians in the world rankings is pretty healthy right now, he was runner up last year @ the WM...

Conners - 45

Hadwin - 49

Taylor - 55 <--- He might jump ahead with a win

Svensson - 62

Hughes - 75

Pendrith - 86

Oh I know he isn't by World rankings I just meant it more as if he's the best right now in people's opinions.

Alright, round 3 in full swing now. Let's f***ing goooooo

Looking for a win from Taylor, Spieth, JT, or Hideki.

That's a wrap for today's action. There's a frost delay risk in the morning, so it looks like we'll be finishing off around halftime tomorrow night. Not ideal.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings. She's a tight leaderboard.

Of course Scottie has risen. Taylor hanging after a sloppy start. This is starting to feel like last year, but hopefully Taylor can turn the tables and get the best of Scheffler this time.

Edit: didn't actually think Hoffman would last, but he's currently leading outright

If you aren't watching the golf right now, you're dumn. The Super Bowl sucks so far anyway.

We have a playoff between Canadian Nick Taylor and from-out-of-nowhere-way-past-his-prime-but-was-apparently-dealing-with-injuries-the-last-few-seasons Charley Hoffman. Let's gooooooo!

Edit: Wow. Clutch putting from Nick on 18 and then the first playoff hole. Playoff hole #2 coming right up.

Incredible last year or so for Nick Taylor, wow. He gets it done in the second playoff hole. Just...amazing television.

What an incredible finish! So happy for Nick Taylor. What a ride it's been for him.

Unfortunately, I think this WM tournament has gotten out of hand and it seems doubtful it will be able to operate like that again.

I'm all for having a tournament that's more fun and less stuffy, but f*** me can people ruin a good thing quickly. You can't have people chucking beers at players on the green and yelling in people's swing. Why can't it just be more like the Ryder Cup crowd is?

Anyone else think Taylor looks so much like John Taveras? I can’t unsee it now lol. What a putting performance.

As for the tournament it think some of the delays on Friday made it worse. I went 2 days last year and it was pretty good for the most part but yeah you certainly have some wild drunks. Lots of young college students who can barely stand up by the end of the day.

I’m honestly surprised you don’t get more people being stupid in general at golf tournaments given the gambling aspect. Like if someone has a ton of money on Taylor or Hoffman what’s to say they don’t yell in the other guys backswing in the playoff. All it takes is one person…

Good point re: gambling...never thought about that angle.

That's been a ongoing issue I've read, about fans interrupting in the players swings due to live gambling. And they do JT and NT have some similarities no doubt.
