Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Loved the Golf this weekend. Did you see the lady take the tee shot in the eye on day 1? Her eyeball exploded!
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Did you see the lady take the tee shot in the eye on day 1? Her eyeball exploded! In all seriousness it's been reported that she has lost sight in that eye and will be suing the course.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 In all seriousness it's been reported that she has lost sight in that eye and will be suing the course. Brutal. I've been hit with a golf ball before, definitely does not tickle. I can't imagine the panic that would set in upon having your eye demolished.

TBF she was quoted as saying she didn't want to make a big deal of it at the time as she didn't want to put Koepka off his game - not sure I could have been that calm!
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Booked my accommodation for the Open at St Andrews in 2021
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I've never understood why the fans are allowed to be so close anyway, especially with balls in the rough. Having said that, common sense would suggest to me not to pick a spot where there's a chance of getting hit by a ball with no time to react. I really don't think the course should be held liable.

It won't be, the tickets have it in fine print. I just hope that woman didn't lose her sight permanently.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Last group, Hadwin and Mickleson and Long all tied for lead going to 18 at Desert Classic
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2019 Author Posted January 20, 2019 Last group, Hadwin and Mickleson and Long all tied for lead going to 18 at Desert Classic On the GC? Who's winning the Women's TOC? Got it... GC.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2019 Author Posted January 20, 2019 On the GC? Who's winning the Women's TOC? Got it... GC. Long just won, right?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 Last group, Hadwin and Mickleson and Long all tied for lead going to 18 at Desert Classic J.B. Holmes just shot an Ace at the Riviera to tie Spieth for the lead. I meant to ask you, with the new option of keeping the flag in during a putt, what happens if the ball sticks on the flag? It's holed, correct?

I've never seen a ball stick between the flag and the side of the cup for very long. I hate this rule change

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 wtf? they are changing the rules of golf now? Always, lol. Back in the day, it was that way, your option.

They are fairly popular in the UK (especially in winter). You use real clubs and balls, hit it into a screen and then the course is virtual. As well as real courses you can play “fantasy” like on top of skyscrapers. It even allows for boosts (e.g. plus 25 yards) so beginners can play together with golfers. It’s fun, but I find that putting is really difficult as the sensors don’t pick up the ball properly for that bit.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2019 Author Posted March 16, 2019 This Player's Championship leaderboard is turning out pretty fun for the weekend.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 I did one of those Piñata pick where the site randomly picks a player and you get 126.00 odds. The system spit out Keith Mitchell and my 1 dollar bet pays 126. How's he looking?
