burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 I would f***ing love that. Nats are my second favourite team. Turner-Murphy-Edwin-Harper would be one of the best top 4 in all of baseball, plus their rotation is still pretty stacked as long as Stras is healthy. Rendon is really good too (when healthy). I think I'd rather they go after Chapman instead of EE though.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Relax dude... Just a f***ing question. It's absurd. Sorry.
Governator Community Moderator Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 If EE isn't a Jay I wouldn't mind him to go the NL. lol
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 It's absurd. Sorry. Sorry, what exactly is absurd about asking a fairly complex question about park dimensions relative to a specific player's batted ball profile?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Sorry, what exactly is absurd about asking a fairly complex question about park dimensions relative to a specific player's batted ball profile? So you think the alley gaps are a substantial change in Toronto to Kaufman? He hasn't the power to go over heads in Kaufmann, for the most part. The difference is minimal. It's all in his legs.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Yep, with the Astros and the Redsox out apparently its just a two or three teams. Not including the NL, the only teams I count are Jays, Yankees, Angels and Rangers. I cant imagine the Yankees doing a deal for EE, they like Sanchez as a long term DH option, plus they have gone away from overpaying older player. With Harper and Company becoming free agents soon, they probably want to keep the payroll room. I think its just Rangers and Jays, and I hate to say it but it might be the Rangers, because Shatkins may not be serious about bringing EE back. The Draft pick is probably too enticing for them. My hot tub time machine must be set on 2026 again...
xposbrad Verified Member Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 My dark horse favourite for Edwin are the Nats. Don't they have RZ at first?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Meh... park gaps aren't different much at all. (GD) to his bat profile. If I'm wrong, help me out. Is there Park adjusted numbers I'm unaware of? For his profile?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Don't they have RZ at first? That's probably the reason they'd want EE
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 My dark horse favourite for Edwin are the Nats. Forget it. With Zimmerman still there at 1B in Washington, it's not happening..
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 @Ken_Rosenthal Initial offer by #BlueJays to Encarnacion - four years, $80M - was taken off table. But if #Yankees, #Rangers aren't heavy on EE...
Gary Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Ken Rosenthal on EE: Initial offer by #BlueJays to Encarnacion - four years, $80M - was taken off table. But if #Yankees, #Rangers aren't heavy on EE... As always: Markets are fluid; teams jump in and out based on events. Teams could get "in" on Encarnacion that weren't in before. We'll see. #BlueJays got Morales done at a reasonable 3/33. Left themselves flexibility for other moves. Could still play on Encarnacion.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Forget it. With Zimmerman still there at 1B in Washington, it's not happening.. You mean bc of the $$$? Zim suxxxx

Sign of a massive jays fan!
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I wonder what Gregor Blanco might fetch as a 4th outfielder. He's coming off a down year, I'm thinking 2m for 1 yr wouldnt be bad.

jerb Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Jon Heyman Verified account @JonHeyman Rangers, Jays still in play for Edwin Encarnacion. Plus, 2 NL teams have now called. (he's solid at 1B)

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 You mean bc of the $$$? Zim suxxxx The problem is that Washington doesn't have a lot of flexibility.. remember, they have that HEAVILY backloaded Scherzer deal ($42.1M in 2019!) and Strasburg deal ($38M in 2019 as well!) and the roster is set to be torn apart after 2018 (Murphy, Werth, Harper are free agents after that season).. it's going to be a ****ing mess in Washington after the 2018 season unless they find a way to keep Harper.

Last time I checked we had Justin Smoak playing 1st and the team is inquiring on the likes of Mitch Moreland

I don't know about that. They have a lot of young pitching talent to build around.
Ray Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Guessing the two NL teams are the Marlins and Rockies. The Rockies especially need a 1B. I could see them going after him now that the price has dropped on Edwin.

I could see them going after him now that the price has dropped on Edwin. So the price has dropped for everyone but us? I guess Shapiro is going after that 140 million payroll really showing the hoses he is cost effective. Makes sense that this was the year Indians went to WS after all he would have never made the Andrew Miller trade and that is what put the Indians over the top
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I don't know about that. They have a lot of young pitching talent to build around. But how are they going to score without any big bats?
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 But how are they going to score without any big bats? Robles, Rendon, and Turner isn't a bad start.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I'd say its more about them singing Morales already. They don't want to be stuck with two DHs for 3 years. That's not necessarily an issue though. The trade market is still a thing for both of them as soon as the ASB 2017. You could trade Morales when you feel Tellez is ready.
