HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 I'm not as comfortable with Stroman as you guys. The Indians love to run the bases, and Stroman gives up waaay too many base runners to make me feel easy.

Also has one of the biggest GB% so if he can manage to keep them on first it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Another good point is that Martin finally looks like he's got his arm back, he's been throwing down well since September (eyetest)
CHRIS Verified Member Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Didn't really help Sanchez his last start out... I think the general consensus with Sanchez was that he was too amped up. I hope that's true, and that everyone involved can adjust as needed.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2016 Author Posted October 13, 2016 Estrada's so laid back it's awesome lol
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Not that Cleveland is a pitchers park by any means but the cold temperatures should help guys like Marco and Jay. Saving our GB% guys for a closed Rogers centre seems wise. It's going to be 18 on Friday and 23 on Saturday in Cleveland this weekend.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 nice article on advance scouting https://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2016/10/13/blue-jays-know-advance-scouts-are-a-key-piece-in-the-playoff-puzzle.html

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2016 Author Posted October 13, 2016 OKAY. Gibbons just confirmed how the Liriano thing works. They need to make a decision on if he's good to go WHEN they submit their rosters because they're going to play with 24 men on Friday before activating him Saturday. We don't have a temporary player that we can add then remove to activate Liriano.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 I don't see how that type of rule encourages teams and players to be more careful with concussions. If anything, forcing them to play short-handed gives an incentive to hide them. We might have Liriano available for game 1 in that case.

Unfortunately we won't Gibbons made it clear that if he's clear to pitch they need to play with 24 men Friday and get activated the following day. So because we listed him on the DL we have to wait it out

So because we listed him on the DL we have to wait it out I understand that. I'm just speculating that if we had somehow hidden the fact that he had a concussion or downplayed the problem, we would be in a better position to win this series. The new rules, as I understand them, were meant to protect players with possible concussions by giving teams added roster flexibility. This scenario encourages deception and recklessness does it not?

Well, we got to replace him with a reliever last series while keeping him eligible for this series. Had we put him on the regular DL last round he wouldn't have been eligible at all this round. Or if we didn't use the concussion DL we could have played the last part of last series short a man, and then yeah, presumably he would be eligible for game 1 in this series still.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Feldman better not be on the roster this time. Even one of Loup/Tepera should be gone in favour of Pompey.
CBlake Verified Member Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Feldman better not be on the roster this time. Even one of Loup/Tepera should be gone in favour of Pompey. Loup scares the crap out of me, plus simply can't take his entry song again, that's one depressing song.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Liriano's situation makes it even more important to keep Feldman on the roster.

Yeah it's a weird rule, I mean from one angle at least the player doesn't miss the entire next series if he's injured in the DS which is fine for a player with a crucial role to the team like Liriano because it's not like there's alternatives, but imagine if a role player like Barney is in the same situation he's replaceable he probably loses his spot to Goins because the team doesn't wanna be short handed. I see what you are saying

Looking at the ALDS final roster I'd say just drop Barnes and Tepera for Liriano and Pompey. You'd be able to keep Feldman and Loup too

You'd be able to keep Feldman and Loup too Keep Barnes, drop Loup instead. We have 2 lefties with Liriano and Cecil. Barnes is better than Tepera, Loup and Feldman, so he should be on before any of them.

I usually don't care for player interviews to be honest unless its Bautista or Donaldson lol. I watched one Travis pregame interview and he seems pretty damn calm too.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2016 Author Posted October 14, 2016 You don't watch like sportscentre or highlights? No lol I don't watch highlights because I catch almost every game, and if I do miss a game I watch the condensed game from MLB.com lol I usually don't have time to catch sportscenter or sportsnet connected anyways
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Is Aaron Loup a good interview? Almost as good as Adam Lind.
flafson Verified Member Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Is Aaron Loup a good interview? He usually stands behind the person who gets interviewed on the camera with a can of beer in his hand.
