^ this. Cecil has been throwing the ball really well and a LHH hitter was 1st up in the 9th. Grilli has been great but he is 39 and has been used a lot. 2 gms in a row BS.

Yep. There is no originality with him. Let's waste two good relievers for a handful of pitches (Biagini and Cecil) and give a struggling reliever the 9th inning just because he's the "8th inning guy" and with the "9th inning guy" no available, you have to work backwards otherwise the universe will implode.

I think how the jays lose some of these games plays a part in this inferior mentality, losing close games, giving up big leads, falling short of a comeback, etc. It seems like the jays aren't clutch at all.
