fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I just want to win and he's as good as any other 5th starter. Whatever perceptions or frustrations you may have don't concern me. No he's not he's the only 5th starter in the majors with a below average batter and fielder stuck to him stop overlooking this please

Whatever perceptions or frustrations you may have don't concern me. I mean sure I want to win too, but we have Liriano, Feldman and Bolsinger who could probably contribute just as much if not more than Dickey. I don't really care what does and doesn't concern you, I think you would find similar feelings towards RA across the fanbase more than any other pitcher.
Vialotor Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 This is why the Jays struggle to score without HR's....First and Third 1 out, no runs. Lead off double, can't move him over , really bad fundamentals. Could be 3-2 right now, so many runs left on the bases.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Why didn't Travis swing 3-1?

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Why didn't Travis swing 3-1? Good question, it was right in his wheel house.

Blue Jays Molly Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 The reaction to Dickey by some fans is pretty ridiculous. That said, Liriano is a better option, in my opinion... if only because Thole isn't attached to him.
Vialotor Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Those type of things even happen with the Red Sox mj. Not near as often, and what is mj?
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Those type of things even happen with the Red Sox mj. I think they left ten or something like that on base yesterday
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Let's score some runs!!!
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Dickey settled down, what a shocker. It's as if most pitchers struggle in the first inning.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Empirical evidence shows this probably isn't the case. Empirical evidence shows that Francisco Liriano projects about 0.3 runs better than Dickey as a starter, and Bolsinger and Feldman around the same (though the latter projects primarily as a reliever). And let's not even discuss the difference between Thole and Martin.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I think they left ten or something like that on base yesterday Red Sox were 0-7 with RISP yesterday. They need to learn how to manufacture runs.
Plat Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Dickey settled down, what a shocker. It's as if most pitchers struggle in the first inning. Wait until the usual Dickey implosion, i predict around the 5th or 6th inning.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Empirical evidence shows this probably isn't the case. They don't need Thole to catch them. I'm expecting that eveytime you evaluate Dickey you are encorpirating Thole because whatever starting catcher we've had during his 3 year stint (Arencibia, Martin or Navarro) we've been using Thole instead. So whether you evaluate Dickey using fWAR or RA9-WAR to evaluate Dickey at 0.7-1.2 WAR, his buddy is costing us -0.6 WAR So the package is 0.1-0.6WAR. I think Liriano can give us exactly this if not better without rostering his buddy or seeing his stupid floater for the rest of the month
Vialotor Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 2-1 count,,,fastball right down the middle taken, seen this so much this year. Then he strikes out.
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Can someone tell me Tanaka pitch count? Pitch track isn't up in my sportsnet feed for some reason
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Can someone tell me Tanaka pitch count? Pitch track isn't up in my sportsnet feed for some reason Tanaka is at 52 pitches following that first strike. Seems like pitchtracker has issues at Yankee Stadium, as this isn't the first time it has disappeared.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Dickey settled down, what a shocker. It's as if most pitchers struggle in the first inning. after coughing up a lead, what a shocker.

Plat Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Jays already have 8 men left on base in only 2.2 innings
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Nice swing from Saunders.
