The Blue Jays have felt right at home in The Bronx of late, and the American League East leaders will hope to continue that on Monday as they send knuckleballer R.A. Dickey to the hill, opening a three-game series with Masahiro Tanaka and the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Toronto has won 15 of its last 22 meetings with the Yankees in New York, a setting in which the Yankees used to dominate their neighbors from the north. The Blue Jays have won nine of 12 contests against the Yankees overall this season, including five straight in late May.

For the Yanks, Labor Day brings another pivotal matchup as they cling to hope in the AL Wild Card race, 3 1/2 games back. Tanaka draws the call for the home team and will attempt to remain unbeaten for the sixth consecutive start.

Three things to know about this game:

• Tanaka has enjoyed success against most of Toronto's lineup, but Edwin Encarnacion is a notable exception. Encarnacion is 8-for-19 (.421) with two doubles, a home run and two RBIs against the right-hander. Meanwhile, Dickey is 0-2 against the Yankees this season.

• Josh Donaldson has been swinging a hot bat. The reigning AL MVP entered Sunday's series finale against the Rays batting .378 (17-for-45) with six homers and 12 RBIs during a 12-game hitting streak.

• The Yankees' Gary Sanchez was named the AL Player of the Month and the AL Rookie of the Month for August, becoming the first catcher ever to pick up both honors. The promising 23-year-old worked a walk in his second at-bat on Sunday at Baltimore and has reached base safely in 19 straight games.

I can't believe you just did this. I'm supposed to put my 4-0 record on the line.

On paper the pitching matchup doesn't bode well for us

Tanaka has only gone 11 innings with 5:8 BB:K against us this year so we've run up his count well and gotten chances. It's just a matter of getting a big hit or two.

Maybe Dickey's knuckler will confuse the young Yankee hitters, and he will throw CG SO

lol unlikely, Dickster wont make it through 5, in what I hope will be his last or one of his last MLB starts.

I just remmembered last years ALCS, and that strike called on Navarro from Davis, and the balk not called.

Got a sickening feeling in my stomach. Wish I didn't look at it.

That pitch was a good a 6 inches outside and high. Holy f***.

The umps f***ed us that inning....still should have been able to score 1 with runner on third no outs. Brutal game, awful luck. Game 2 was a blown chance too, up 3-0 and Goins lets that pop up drop.

What bothered me is how badly Price Came apart after that.

KC won two games convincingly, and we only won 1. Almost blew another

But when Bautista tied that game, I thought for sure we would be winning. When Pompey was on third and Pillar on first, I was like, I am sure they can get at least one in right.

That pitch though, that pitch was fricking irresponsible. that isn't a strike not even close.

Is it just me, or is Upton a complete waste at $14.5m per

We know this and it's why he costs us nothing and only $5MM next year.

I thought the Jays were paying him that $5M this season?

You're probably right, I forget the details. I just remembered $5mm was all we were taking on.
