Doubles: 189 (T-5th in MLB)

HRs: 150 (2nd in MLB)

BBs: 409 (2nd in MLB)

 

Elite power hitters up and down the order hit for both power and walk a ton. They're on base a lot. The home runs are an obvious boon, but this is hardly a team who "waits" for home runs. Or we could play like the Royals with their 693 singles, complemented by 90 home runs and 242 BBs.

 

Couldn't put it better myself. The same people who make these arguments make the same argument of how average is somehow more important than OBP.... when OBP takes into account the batting average
