I wondered if we were approaching the all time K's record for both teams...and found this record breaking game.

 

On July 9th, 1971 the California Angels struck out 26 times and the Oakland A's 17 times for a total of 43 strikeouts. The A's won the game in the bottom of the 20th 1 to 0.

 

Vida Blue struck out 17 in 11 innings and then the A's closer, Rollie Fingers struck out 7 more in 7 innings.

 

Got to love the starter going 11 and closer going 7 innings.
