And at that point we would ask for another trade back, only for him to blow it again in game 3. Either the game or his arm.

After a game like today, I wish we were 500 like the Yanks so that we could have got the pieces they did. This offense is pathetic

Danny friggin Duffy got 16 Ks today against the Rays and Max Kepler got 3 home runs. Weird day of baseball.

Holy f***, stop being such a miserable s***. Tough losses happen, the Astros' bullpen was lights out and while I'm not happy with the effort on the part of the Blue Jays offense, sometimes the other team did a great job.

 

Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki were replaced by Darwin Barney and Ryan Goins, do you think that's a recipe for success?

Winnable games are the toughest to swallow. I'd rather get blown out. It's easier to shake off when you just don't have it on a given night.

Our offence was silent. What a pitching performance from the pen, this is what the 3rd extra inning game in the last 7? BP came out as champs and I absolutely love Gibby's use of it, not going to Feldman until the very end

 

Things to take away looking at the replays:

 

- Bautista's lucky to get more than 2 years at a pay more than $20M, him vs. The high heat is like A-Rod this year, too old to catch up to it. If, and that's a decently big if, he makes contact with it it goes straight up for a weak popfly. They're pitching him up and in with the heat with no regards for respect because the know he can't catch up to it.

 

- Stroman's 2nd half gear has kicked in, he'll be out Sanchez down the stretch. Man imagine these similar type performance + Sanchez the rest of the way, with the way Happ & Estrada... Man screw innings limits!!

 

- Pen was once again super solid and for me seals the fact that we might have an elite pen now finally with Morales and Chavez gone. Shultz is a sleeper he's great and the rest of the pen is the rest of the pen. I also think Benoit is really solid, I have lots of faith in him still needs to keep the walks in check but his velo is sexy. Feldman faced an MVP candidate and a future MVP candidate back to back, away in the 14th inning against his old team, in his first appearance with his new team. Recipie for disaster, which is why Gibby held off on using him

 

- I hope 0-6 with 4Ks Smoak can finally ride the Bench while Upton takes helm in a corner OF position. Edwin is sexy wth the glove anyways

Yeah him or Saunders DH while Upton plays the field. I'm actually under the impression that Saunders is worse than Bautista in the field, Bautista still has somewhat of an arm and is very athletic moreso than Saunders. Plus Saunders knee is glass. Upton is sexy in the outfield. The glove and speed never slump

This was done already on Saturday with success..9 runs..Why go away from it? It's a no brainer

 

I'm really starting to think it doesn't matter who we acquire. The rest of the league could play their AAA clubs and we still won't win it all unless we have someone with half a brain managing

Thing with Upton is he's just as bad at the plate as Smoak, even worse vs RHP. They both are the same hitter. Can square a FB up every once in a while but are allergic to hitting a breaking ball.

He just came off 3 seasons of >= 120 wRC+ and predicted to be a 114 hitter going forward... Add to the fact his defense is better than either Saunders or Bats it seems logical to put him in.
